I am having a hard time reviewing this place. We went a few months ago and had the most amazing experience. The tortillas were delicious, super nice manager, great drinks etc. we have been back twice since and they just can’t seem to handle the pressure of a busy night. Food was bland, there was only ONE person working the huge bar on cinco de Mayo, everyone was getting mad at the bad service there. However the guy made wonderful drinks and was great once you got him I am just shocked at how understaffed they were and how they couldn’t handle the pressure of a busy night. We might be back, we might not….
Atmosphere and Drinks were on point. But the wait time for the Luke warm food that was brought out was disappointing. The rice had hard burnt bits in it. I drove 40 minutes to this place, and I really wanted to like it but My first visit will also be my last. I tipped 15% and that was gracious of me.
The vegetarian quesadilla not on the menu was recommended by the server and did not disappoint.Clean restaurant and friendly servers.
Service was great, drinks were good, but the food is bland. I've gone twice hoping the first experience was a fluke. The food just doesn't have as much flavor as the one in Somerville. It's almost like they're not using as much spices. So, go for the drinks but lower your expectations for the meal.
food and drinks were spectacular
This is a great place to pop into for dinner. Quality ingredients justify the prices and the staff and service is top notch. Nicely done.
Great margaritas and tacos.happy hours 4 to 6 Tuesday thru Saturday.
Not what I expected for Mexican food , no burritos?? Lacking flavor and an odd sauce was used to dress up food? If your used to traditional Mexican food you won't be happy the service was great though and I'm being generous with 3 stars the service brought it up 1 star.
I would not rush to get here in fact there is no rush at all which tells you maybe all you need to know about this restaurant. Ok, so the food was ... average at best. Burritos were far from authentic and perhaps that's their choice to go with some type of Mexican / Southwest cusine with a flair but lacking the flair part of it. Steak fajitas were meh. Service was good but please explain to me this line item charge of 5% of the bill called, Kitchen administration fee? Huh? If you're looking to cover your costs, then raise your prices. If you're looking to pay your help more than raise their pay or take a cut from the gratuity that patrons leave for the service That is simply not acceptable.
I did the 'bottomless brunch' and enjoyed it immensely...tapas portions so I tried several items..all well prepared and very tasty..I shall return..

Food is spectacular, could have had apps and drinks and a few tacos, will definitely be back!
Amazing Tacos and a great vibe ...
Overall this restaurant was just ok. Nothing stood out as great. The food was ok, but the long wait for our drinks and food was unacceptable. It took twenty minutes after ordering to get a glass of wine and a beer. The food order took thirty minutes. I would love to see this restaurant succeed, but it will take better management to do so.
Too expensive n not vegetarian friendly.$11 just for an appetizer plate containing a handful of fried cubed potatoes sprinkled with seasoning and cheese!!
Wow first time at this place and the margarita to go was a half empty juice box size bottle for 12 dollars... wont make the mistake of going here again. Super bummed. you really shouldnt be able to get away with that type of sniveling scumbag behavior but welcome to the Painted Burro.
