To start, I typically give a 5 to Savinos but more on the 4 farther down. The food is always excellent at Savinos.
My 7 year old grandson had the Duck Confit and lived it! My tuna and scallops were perfectly prepared. The others in our party had beef - 1 was a filet special of the evening and both said their meals were excellent. We had the mussel appetizer and the crab appetizer. I am not a mussel fan but the others raved about them (I think my grandson ate 1/2 the bowl !). Then we all had dessert - flan, to sorbet, to blueberry torte to the multiple layer chocolate fudge cake - all deemed delicious! So why 4 stars? The service from our supposed waitress (or should I say non-service). At 1st all was fine but then came the drink order - she didn't understand it (a bottle of champagne for the 2 adults and a Shirley Temple for the 7 year old- when I ordered the bottle, she wrote it down and then asked my husband what he wanted?). The bartender came over got the order because he said she was confused (although he as well was confused by the Shirley Temple- turns out he had never made one before, but the 7 year old wound up saying they were the best he ever had - it was all in their special cherries!) The poor man also wound up having to take our appetizer order as the waitress basically ignored us for over 30 minutes and never came back to ask- to give credit, he was deeply apologetic she hadn't taken our order as we had been sitting for quite awhile. The kitchen brings out your food when it is ready which is amazing so it is always hot! Waitress did take our 2nd drink order, but never put it in! The bartender caught our glances, came to see if food was okay, and we mentioned missing drinks..... So what did this waitress do? Not much as the bar tender was also the one who took our dessert order and took care of the leftover packaging for us. Again, not a typical service experience for Savinos - but kudos to the bartender for taking care of us and to the kitchen for an amazing meal.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. Chef Tom is talented and accommodating. The food is absolutely wonderful. I usually get the salmon with wild rice and roasted Brussels. Its fabulous! The chocolate cake with chocolate Gelato is to live for! All mouthwatering and homemade! I will keep coming again and again. I chose this restaurant for my sisters bday. She and everyone that came absolutely loved it. Going tonight for my bday!

Great experience dining here. Today is the 5th time in the past 3 weeks. The food is prepared to order and is superb and full of flavor! The chef is also the owner and he does an awesome job! He came out the last time to say hello and thanked us for our patronage. The wait staff are super friendly and are attentive to you, eager to satisfy. I've had the swordfish special the last two times and it was really fresh and very flavorful, my father had the lamb shank and he loved it! If you have a food allergy, the chef is very effective in completely omitting that ingredient and is so good in his profession that he is able to whip up a flavorful substitute. It is not always that you find a restaurant that knows how to prepare duck confit properly and if you love lamb shank, look no further.

I was excited to finally try Savinos but overall wasn't too impressed with the experience. Service polite and adequate but not overly friendly. Atmosphere was average - nice classical music playing. Bread was served but the hummus/oil spread served with it was just a tiny portion not even enough for one person, or one small bite of bread! I got the swordfish special which was good. My friend ordered the steak special and we got a nice surprise on our bill - it cost 60.00! I encourage the servers to state the price of specials when they explain them. Specials are often higher priced than regular menu items, but this was ridiculous and in my opinion a bit deceptive. Had we known the price would not have ordered it. Would not recommend this place, but always good to try and make your own opinion!

This is a neighborhood gem. The food is great, and wine list excellent, but you can get a glass is drinkable wine for $10. It’s quiet so
it’s a perfect place to visit with your parents or if you want a real conversation.

Savinos has a cool and friendly ambience with a cozy seating configuration - excellent for conversation. The Italian inspired menu is reasonably priced and we especially enjoyed the warm spinach salad and the seafood dishes. Recommended!

First time here, two of us went at lunch time. The place was pretty empty, prices very reasonable. The low service rating is not due to the lovely server we had, but that it took around 45 minutes to get our meals. Yes the food was delicious. but not worth the wait.

The secret is that Tom will cook what you love. Want the swordfish with the chicken set up… “no problem”. Want two soft shelled crabs for your entree? “No problem”. Love this place. Come!!!

I came to Savinos years ago and recently moved back to the area. I was delighted to see that it was still open, and our meal was fabulous - honestly, one of the best spinach salads I have ever had. My guest from out of town had an equally delicious meal.

Of 4 people, 2 found the food delicious and 2 said it was meh. Bartender made good drinks, despite his appearance being off putting.
