I always read over the yelp reviews fairly carefully to get help in deciding what to order and was disappointed to see how many negative reviews there were.I have been to Savino’s maybe 2 or 3 times a year for many years and I’m always quite pleased and very satisfied with both the service and the food. I’m also impressed that whenever I’ve asked for something to be done a little differently or for a substitute it’s been done gracefully and without an extra charge. For example I love their mushroom risotto (I asked for some extra garlic and Parmesan cheese) and so I usually order that instead of potatoes or regular rice, and it makes the meal really outstanding for me. My friend and I both had the vegetable mushroom soup which was delicious and I had the panko topped tilapia which I thought was excellent. Not at all greasy and very tender and tasty.I only have two small recommendations : one, that the water be colder and include some ice (this was not a problem since I asked for a glass of ice and got it quickly) and two that there be some salt & pepper on the table even though the food is usually nicely seasoned. The restaurant was quiet, which is also a plus and when I did hear the music, it was very pleasant and calming musicI suggest that you give it a try

Food was great and cooked well. Service on the other hand was questionable. Slow Monday night, with two other tables and a total of 9 people including our table. The waiters never check on us we had to track her down and get her attention to get our waters refilled, while she was "busy" being on her phone. Never asked how was our food or if we need it anything. The only time she show some "excitement" was when we asked for our bill. She was so fast to cash out. For someone that works in hospitality and the majority of your income comes from tips from a service you provide, you might want to work/train your staff to be more welcome.

People were very nice, the waiter was nice and we liked the atmosphere but, the filet mignon had a very weird smell. It smelled almost a bit rotten, the rest of the food was good though. So we can't give you more than 3 stars.

Savinos is a local gem. I've been here for celebratory dinners in the past, both pre- and during the pandemic, and everything has been delicious with great service in a classy (if a bit dated) atmosphere. Lately I've been enjoying their lunch, which is a great price (entrees around $15) for high quality meals that satisfy more than your typical sandwich of the same price in the area. I have a number of dietary restrictions (mostly gluten and dairy free), and they've been able to accommodate them while not compromising on quality. The grilled salmon is one meal I would get again and again. It comes with a refreshing salad alongside a red potato salad that's very lightly dressed with mayonnaise, just what I prefer. The steak is another good option for gluten and dairy free folks. It's easy to substitute items with more veggies. While I've enjoyed just about everything I've had there, sometimes they add a bit too much finishing oils, making some dishes too oily. My mom, who is a particular eater, loves the flatbread (toppings are a rotating special). She found the pasta bolognese to be a bit one note, though, with not much other ingredients. They don't have gf/df desserts, but I couldn't resist taking a bite of my mom's crème caramel. It is deliciously creamy! Reminds me of desserts in Paris when I could eat whatever I wanted. There's street parking and some outdoor seating for warmer months. If you do want to come for lunch, be sure to make a reservation on their website -- I think they still require them. We've also called them to get takeout, which has been super easy. Still, I prefer going in person to have a slice of elegant calm.

Worth a detour. My lamb shank was perfectly cooked. I have eaten here for five times these past few years.

The menu was limited and mediocre. I should have returned the raspberry lemon desert it was dry tasteless and must have been sitting in their kitchen for a week.

The 5 of us all enjoyed our dinners. Chef Tom Cutrone graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, & you could tell. Near the end of the evening, he even came out personally to walk from table to table to ask how our meals had been. The restaurant website describes the food as Italian Mediterranean. My "Red White Romaine" salad with homemade caesar dressing and croutons was plated so beatifully that we took a picture of it! This restaurant is located in Belmont’s Cushing Square. We did park on the street, & there were no meters. The evening we dined there, they happened to have a guitarist playing softly in the background which was pleasant. I don't know though whether this is a regular occurrence or not though. FYI, their website indicates they're also open for lunch from Tues. to Sat. from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. I live out-of-state, but if I lived in the area, I'd check them out more frequently. Recommended!

This place unfortunately was a big letdown. I will say the people at the restaurant were extremely nice and pleasant so at least that was good. The food we purchased had no flavor to it and was not good at all. My tuna and scallops with pasta was a let down unfortunately. The sauce was very thin and watery and the tuna and pasta had no flavor at all. The scallops were great though. My girlfriend got the chicken with risotto and again the risotto was really lacking flavor. Both of our dishes had a weird taste almost like you could taste the pan they were cooked in. Unfortunately had to add a good amount of salt to both dishes to be able to tolerate it.

Food great food and atmosphere but spotty very good and decor pleasant but service spotty. Second time our cocktails came after our food. Giving 4 stars trusting it’s because of staffing problems these days.

Heard that the food here is very good- agreed, but that the service is slow. I think that’s resolved. My wife and I just finished a fantastic, tasty meal, and the waitress has been very attentive and pleasant. We’ll come back again. (Yes, it’s a little pricey, but we’re finding lately that even a decent lunch somewhere can cost $50 or so with tip!)

Great dining experience. The food was excellent, and the service was prompt and attentive. We'd been reluctant to try this restaurant because we'd been told that service was limited and slow. We decided to give it a try because we were told that the food was good. This restaurant definitely surpassed my expectations. The food was excellent with a beautiful presentation, and it was served in a very reasonable time frame. The service was excellent as well. The bartender was very helpful in suggesting appropriate wines and after-dinner complements to the incredible desserts. I felt like given the prices of food everywhere these days that this place was very reasonable.
