Recently I ordered a side of Acra. Apparently when you order on doordash it’s $10 but if you try to order in person it’s $15….. in other words you’ll save money if you order online via doordash or postmates. Slightly annoying esp since their prices are already a bit high for Haitian food. Plus it’s hard to get someone on the phone if you have questions. in person, the girl who takes your order at the bar has a slight attitude/bougie-ness that I don’t find amusing. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great though. Very modern and targeted for younger people.

Tamboo is the premier restaurant/nightlife destination for Haitians. I had pikliz, plantains, and black rice and it was absolutely delicious. Vania showed me around on an unexpected tour. Debbie, the general manager came out for a chat with me as well. This is next level customer service.
To top it off, Vania ran across the street in the cold to return my debit card, which I of course left inside with the bill!
If you are in the Brockton area, make sure you check them out

The food was delicious and the service was great, when we weren’t sure what to try and she gave us great suggestions. I also loved the experience, we got to eat the egusi soup the traditional way.

Wanted to try their Griyo. They were out so I ordered two of the appetizer I wanted to try - coconut shrimp. The wait to order was driving me crazy. Then, once ordered, I swore I was going to get some fresh shrimp. Two bites in, I realized my dilemma. $32 for 14-16 pre-frozen shrimp was definitely not the highlight of my night.
Based on the recommendation that this was the best Haitian restaurant in Boston, I was disappointed. Will I go back again, it’ll be a strong maybe. Atmosphere and decor is definitely on 10, but the service suggests they need more staff on the customer facing side. I hope the other dishes aren’t frozen, then cooked like mine.
Dishes were $16-20 - people want love as an ingredient.
Cutting corners and costs won’t help in the long run.

The food was good but the wait was long. Over an hour for 5 people. It was mother's day so I'll give them a small pass on that. And it was my sister's birthday; there was no bday treat from the restaurant when we mentioned that. That's a first for us and That was disappointing. The waiter was slightly confusing. Many of us wanted macaroni for our side and he said there was none so we chose another option. When we were served our plates most of us ended up with the macaroni. It was a nice surprise but I would of preferred pleasant communication from the waiter sharing that we could get what we originally requested. I loved the sauce with my shrimp and conch meat. I would have liked to have more shrimp than conch. The brown rice tasted better that the djon djon. I would choose that next time! The tip is already set by the restaurant. I don't agree with. The more pleasant the waiter the more generous the tip will be and vice versa. American music was playing instead of Haitian music. That puzzled me as well.
