Recently I ordered a side of Acra. Apparently when you order on doordash it’s $10 but if you try to order in person it’s $15….. in other words you’ll save money if you order online via doordash or postmates. Slightly annoying esp since their prices are already a bit high for Haitian food. Plus it’s hard to get someone on the phone if you have questions. in person, the girl who takes your order at the bar has a slight attitude/bougie-ness that I don’t find amusing....
Tamboo is the premier restaurant/nightlife destination for Haitians. I had pikliz, plantains, and black rice and it was absolutely delicious. Vania showed me around on an unexpected tour. Debbie, the general manager came out for a chat with me as well. This is next level customer service.
To top it off, Vania ran across the street in the cold to return my debit card, which I of course left inside with the bill!

The food was delicious and the service was great, when we weren’t sure what to try and she gave us great suggestions. I also loved the experience, we got to eat the egusi soup the traditional way.
