I recently visited this omakase restaurant and was truly impressed. The quality of the fish they use is exceptional, and I enjoyed every single dish they prepared. The presentation of each course was beautiful and thoughtful, adding to the overall dining experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and inviting, and the service was excellent—attentive, friendly, and professional. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-notch omakase experienced! 10/10

The omakase at Akami could make any day a special occasion and even more so if it is a day worth celebrating! The full staff puts in the work to ensure an amazing experience.
Food: The menu was a perfect blend of new unexpected flavor combinations, decadent fish cuts prepped with great care, and even normal fish cuts elevated to new flavor peaks!
Service: The chefs gave enticing descriptions of the dishes that really emphasized an appreciation of food and the wait staff kept the meal flowing with ease.
Atmosphere: The standard sushi bar was great for watching the staff, so even between bites we had something to talk about and get excited by. The interior is not only neat and clean it helps take your mind off of everything beyond the front doors.

The meal was good overall! But compared to other omakase in Boston it was lacking. The first course with white fish and coconut milk and steamed egg was a favorite. The ube dessert was phenomenal.
During the rest of the courses, I found fish scales in one and found another to be very stringy and hard to chew. Most of the courses seemed unbalanced flavor wise which was mildy off putting. There was no options for glasses of wine only bottles which again was a bummer.
Overall a good experience but alot to be improved on for the area.

Excellent experience. The food was delicious and the atmosphere just right for the experience. The staff was attentive and had good pacing with serving and clearing. I would absolutely go back for a special occasion.
I have a shellfish allergy, and because of another review, felt confident the restaurant would take it seriously. I was blown away by how much care and consideration they give to allergies. The chefs made sure to explain all the modifications including offering special dishes, ask clarifying questions, and go above and beyond to avoid cross contamination.

Good flavor, very small portions, not worth it in my opinion! Probably fewer than 14 pieces served although menu says 14-course menu!

We just had an epic dining experience at Akami Omakase! After a slight reservation error for my daughter’s birthday celebration, the Chef went above and beyond by having us for a private 14 course tasting menu. The food was incredible and beautifully presented, and the chef engaged us with stories and details about his inspiration for each course. The staff and atmosphere was warm, friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant was very reasonably priced . Just an awesome experience and we look forward to returning some time soon. We can’t thank the restaurant, chef, and staff enough for such a great evening and celebration!

We did the 14 course $100 chefs selection and it was amazing, japanese classics as well as some local fish, shrimp, scallop, and squid. Dishes were timed very well and presented wonderfully and described by the chef. Ended with a little ube tiramisu and was perfect!

Fish was a little dry at times but overall flavors were good, quality of fish and other seafood was high. It felt a little performative at times in terms of the explanation but overall service was high quality. We got seated at the table closest to the door and that spoiled the ambience a bit because it was relatively cold and the ceiling light right outside the door felt like a spotlight on us.

My girlfriend brought me here for my 30th birthday, which was a rare and special occasion for us since we almost never do expensive dinners. We were really excited, especially given the reputation for a mellow, intimate omakase experience.
Unfortunately, the experience was badly disrupted. The restaurant seated us next to an invited and welcomed content creator or influencer (edited to add: confirmed it was an official collaboration - even worse). Throughout the entire meal, they used flash photography and a bright ring or light box, repeatedly pointing it toward us and the rest of the bar while filming food and themselves eating in an otherwise dimly lit room. It completely broke the atmosphere and was a worst-case scenario for an experience-driven dinner.
The food itself was good. But for a special (and very expensive) experience like this, the environment matters just as much. Knowing this could happen, we will not return for celebrations or recommend it. The restaurant should strongly consider influencer-only nights or stricter rules to protect the experience for other guests.
