Great evening! Our party of four shared all our apps and two entrees, which enabled us to each try a variety of dishes- all delicious! Thanks for a terrific experience!

My wife and are old school so we were not sure what to expect. Met my daughter and her boyfriend there for her birthday, she loves the place. My wife and I were not expecting to find anything we would like. I let my daughter order, I could have been satisfied with the tomato salad, the chicken was delicious and the pita breads were delicious. We will be back. Toughest part is parking.

You don't go to Bar Vlaha for clichés. There's no Santorini-blue decor or tourist-friendly platters. This place reaches deeper. Past the postcard islands into the forests and hills of Northern Greece, where Vlach shepherds turned necessity into the roots of Greek cooking. The room is alive. Not loud, not forced. Just humming. Art lines the walls with the ease of a place that knows who it is. You half expect someone's grandmother to walk out of the kitchen, towel in hand, to refill your plate. It smells like smoke, lemon, and fire-roasted memory. We started with the Karpouzi 2.0, a strange but brilliant tequila drink with watermelon shrub, sunchoke, and a feta-boukovo foam that somehow worked. The Opuntia Swizzle was just as wild, mixing prickly pear, mandarin, bergamot, and a wink of tequila. Drinks that didn't ask permission. The manitaria—crispy oyster mushrooms with parsley salad—was simple and confident. The smoked eel had edge. Served with sourdough and kapparosalata, it brought salt and smoke with no apologies. Then came the mains. The karavides was subtle and elegant, with crayfish, ouzo, tomato, fennel, and orzo. A dish that tasted like a coastal breeze. The agriogourouno, wild boar shoulder braised in red wine with warm spices and hilopites, grounded the meal. Rich, tender, and deeply satisfying. Service was warm. The staff knew the specials by heart, brought a complimentary birthday shot from the birthplace of chewing gum, and kept things flowing without ever hovering. They forgot the bread, though. A simple slip, but we missed a few great dipping moments. I sat facing the wall while my guest took in the scene. I left curious, not full. Like I'd tasted the beginning of something I want to know better. Bar Vlaha isn't a one-and-done. It's a place worth returning to, not just for the food, but for the story it's telling.

Staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. They sat us inside rather than waiting for an outdoor table that we had reserved. Food was well prepared despite the lamb leg being cooked a little more than I would have liked.

The food and server were amazing. The spreads, sour dough bread, loukaniko, walnut fritters, pie of the day, hanger steak special, leg of lamb, and desert sampler were all delicious. Not a single negative thing to say about any of it. We will definitely be back.

If someone asks me for the best place to eat in Boston, I send them to Bar Vlaha. I've been several times and it's always outstanding.

Really nice food and atmosphere, and a different brunch than usual.

Excellent all around! We had to wait a bit for our table on a busy Saturday night but the manager, (Tom?), kept us updated about the wait and loved chatting with us about the inspiration behind the restaurant and his favorites on the menu. The dips and pies were amazing. We will be back!

A beautiful Sunday afternoon that also happened to be Mother's Day! Just a perfect time to visit Bar Vlaha for the first time. We sat outside to enjoy the wonderful weather.

Jorge was our server - he knocked it out of the park with his personality as he engaged with our table and every other table around us. He talked us through our questions and made sure we had anything we needed during our meal.

We were very happy across the board with our selections - and, due to an unexpected happening, most of our party arrived 40mins late, and they took that in stride by making us aware when the kitchen would be shutting down.

After our meal, Jorge took some wonderful photos of our family and we spent several minutes with him. He's an outstanding young man.

Very authentic Greek food! Delicious and good size plates from the Greek tradition. The food was great and tasty. Table seat in front of the kitchen is very nice. The service is great and very friendly and polite. It may be a little bit noise since the restaurant is not big, but nothing crazy. So far one of not the best Greek place in Boston. I hope they can be consistent with the quality and not rise the price astronomical like most of the restaurants. The prizes are not super high but not cheap. Definitely better compared to other Greek places in Boston. Definitely to go back and try something different. Most of the plates are to share but they have a good size that can fit 2-3 people.

Had a work group shared dinner here this Wednesday and glad to be the lucky few who have had almost all the items on the menu :) Everything was delicious. The grill lends magic to the food to the place, so is the mocktail (Olympic energy?)!

I would like to say 4.5 stars, but there doesn't seem to be an option... really nothing wrong with the place, just didn't add up to a great dinner. Some of the dishes were amazing, like the lamb chops... but others unbalanced ... waited 10- 15 minutes after being sat to get water, then put in an order, and all the dishes seemed to come out at once... 🤷‍♂️ wine was solid, proteins fantastic, all and all I'd try it again

Yet another gem in Brookline. Authentic Greek well executed with a thoughtful Greek and Macedonian wine list. Highly recommend.

Good service, overpriced food, and alcohol. I was disappointed with the main dinner room.
