Big Fun Claypot is a great addition to Brookline. It's clean and near a green line stop. The servers are polite and attentive. The salt and pepper is perfectly flavored and not dry. The beef chow fun has the wok energy taste but its on the oily side. As for the claypot rice itself, I ordered the eel which had a few bones in it but the eel was seasoned well.

Stumbled on this place for lunch. i got the lunch deal which is excellent value for a soup, a main and rice.
the food was perfect! no notes. Best MaPo tofu i’ve had in Boston. Husband had what he described as the platonic ideal of a noodle dish.
strongly recommend!!!!

They don’t have steam fish, also the soups are not HK/ Guangdong style. Fish I ordered is pretty good. Claypot is ok, I like the swamp eel, but I don’t like the rice. Overall still good. Around 50 dollars without tips.

Excellent Chinese food. Delicious flavours. Wonderful service. Steady stream of customers on a sleep Saturday afternoon, should say enough.

Really good food. We especially like the pineapple shrimp, pork liver with long horn pepper, and watercress in soup.

Big Fun Claypot is an absolute must-visit! This cozy spot in Brookline offers authentic Chinese dishes that remind me of home. The rice clay pot dishes are flavorful and hearty especially the Pork Knuckle and Beef with Pouch Egg. The warm nourishing tea and taro sago dessert are perfect finishing touches. Friendly staff, great ambiance, and incredible flavors. Highly recommend for anyone craving comforting Chinese cuisine without the Chinatown trip! Will definitely be back!

Frozen winter nights are the best nights to have claypot rice. We enjoyed our Big Fun Claypot dinner. I loved the fact you can mix and match Claypots. We had the Chinese sausage, bacon and duck Claypot. The highlight is at the base of the pot when the rice becomes crispy! We also had the salt and pepper squid. Niceee! Want to try the eel next time.

The clay pot rice has so much crunch and flavor! We got the salted fish meat patty one ($17.50), which had deep umami and highlighted the crispy rice. The wet fried beef rice noodles ($16) had a peppery sauce, along with a good amount of beef. And finally the stir fried bok choy ($16) were so garlicky and delicious. Definitely bring your appetite!

Oustanding Cantonese-style food. The flavors are so comforting and reminiscent of Hong Kong. The interior is modern yet cozy, and the workers are incredibly kind.
Party of 2 and visited on a Wednesday night. We ordered 3 things: Westlake Beef Soup, Beef Brisket and Radish Claypot, and the Seafood Tofu Claypot. Everything came out quickly and piping hot. Soothed our tummies on a cold Boston night.

One of my favorite spots for a quick, casual Chinese meal.
I tried their original Quincy location a few years ago and really liked it, but since Quincy Center is a bit out of the way for me, I hadn’t been back. Once they opened the Brookline location, though, I started coming pretty regularly.
Most of what I’ve tried here has been very solid. One thing I especially appreciate is how they handle the claypot rice. Here, they leave the sauce bottle on the table, which lets me play the waiting game. This allows that glorious layer of rice to scorch into a golden crust before I season it.
They’re also generous with the protein, and I rarely feel the need to order sides. The spare ribs and beef brisket claypots are my favorites. Here, they don’t trim the life out of the meat. The Beef brisket keeps the tendon intact for that sticky, gelatinous comfort that lean cuts just can't match.
Claypot Café has long been the only player in this category around Boston, but I think Big Fun does it slightly better. The difference isn’t huge, but it’s enough to keep me coming back every month.
