The star of this dish is undoubtedly the 'guo ba' - the layer of crispy, scorched rice at the bottom of the clay pot. It's golden, crunchy, and infused with the savory juices from the meat and sauce. Tried this spot recently for their clay pot rice and was pleasantly surprised to find some newly launched dishes on the menu. They had Steamed Rice Rolls with Spareribs and Beef Brisket. I’ve had the cheung fun in Quincy before and really enjoyed it, so I was a bit disappointed that the Brookline location doesn’t offer their usual cheung fun. But these new rice roll dishes were a great alternative — flavorful, fresh, and definitely worth trying.

The rice is perfectly cooked, with each grain nice and distinct, and that little hint of smoky crispness is just right. The sauce is super flavorful —absolutely amazing. Plus, the place is really clean and tidy, so you can eat here without any worries.
