Cafe Itadaki is having their soft opening until August 4th.

I tried the Omurice. The server brings it out to you and cuts it open as well, resulting in the signature pour seen with omurice. I thought the dish was very good, not much to elevate it but the sauce included tastes decent with it.

I also tried the original omurice, which was pretty good as well. It only includes ketchup as a sauce, but the included meat and rice was good.

We also tried the onigiri, which had good portions and was affordable for what they offered.

Not sure if the price will change when they do open, but the prices here lean a bit cheaper than other places, and the portion size here is decent.

I definitely will want to try and go back once the restaurant opens.

First time visit, and we'll definitely be back! Feels like a cafe right out of Japan, complete with the little bag holders by each of the tables. Food was amazing; best katsu curry I've had in a very long time. Matcha lattes were excellent as well -- we even got an extra one to go!

I love this place. Their signature matcha is amazing and their Japanese pancake is incredible! I don’t live in the area and go out of my way to stop here for delicious Japanese food whenever possible.

Love the menu choices — especially the drinks and the desserts. Cute interior and very polite and considerate staff. Truly a hidden gym within Brookline.

Tonkatsu was so dry & curry was almost cold. Genuinely was surprised that they straight up put sugar in my matcha latte without even mixing it. Pretty underwhelming. Glad I tried it but probably won’t go again.

favorite cafe in the area! the ambiance is conducive for studying so i come pretty often- it's quiet, sunny, with a fixed playlist that is very jazzy compliments the interior decor well.

their green tea is bright in color and is super smooth. it's not bitter after seeped in water for a while compared to the higher grade green teas i own. the matcha tea and latte are great as well- both vibrant green and a perfect level of sweetness. the matcha used is very good quality & remind me of the matcha i had in japan :,)

as for food- i haven't tried much of the options yet but the spicy salmon, tuna, shiitake onigiri is yummy and rice usually fresh and soft. also the taiyaki and other deserts are light, not too sweet

overall, i'd definitely recommend! the workers are kind and super attentive. there's a very detailed list of allergens which was so helpful for me, and my sibling who has allergies to wheat (no soy sauce), among other restrictions

Best cafe i’ve been to in a long time. The prices were great and the taste was even better! I got the signature matcha latte and salmon onigiri. The workers were so nice and the jazz was perfect.

it’s a sweet, clean little cafe. i just strolled in randomly so i wasn’t quite sure what to order, but my server was extremely kind and helped me make a quick decision. i had the omurice, a pickled plum onigiri, and the itadaki matcha frappe! all were tasty and super fresh. everyone working there was helpful and friendly, too. i’ll be back for okonomiyaki!

I've been coming to cafe itadaki regularly since they opened and it's become one of my favorite spots to work from when I need to get out of the house. The atmosphere and service make it the perfect place to sit for a while and enjoy some more authentic Japanese food. The food is always good and the prices are pretty reasonable. I'd recommend to anyone looking to sit down for a while and relax!

I come here a lot this summer, and it was an amazing cafe to either chill with friends over lunch or study with some matcha. I recommend the Katsu curry chicken, the onigiri rice balls and the matcha latte. Haven’t tried a lot of the other foods but omurice was a bit bland. However the staff is amazing and polite, this is definitely the best Japanese cafe I’ve been to in a while!

Incredible matcha, one of my two favorites in Boston. Friendly staff and a very calming spot to visit on a lunch break. Wish they were open more often, I’d love to go earlier!
