Don’t waste your money. Unremarkable food, inflated prices ($8 for the most pathetic salsa portion I’ve ever received), and up-charges for toppings as simple and inexpensive as lettuce. Food was decent but not worth the premium price charged. If you want to pay sit-down prices burritos and some chips and salsa, go to Lolita’s.
Ordered fish tacos and got a large portion of rice and an extremely small amount of fish, not even the size of a palm, but a bucket of rice

Chilacates has great classic Mexican food. It doesn’t feel like an Americanized Mexican-fusion restaurant. The elotes are great and come on the cob. The tacos are really good and we recommend the shrimp ones! We’ve also tried their burritos, and bowls, and salads and everything has been wonderful.
Absolutely amazing - great friendly staff and by far the best Birria I’ve had in Boston. Salsa was awesome too. Warmly recommended !!!

That torta!!!
Went for what was suggested as Boston's best breakfast burrito... not a great breakfast burrito, but will certainly be back to try the main menu items.
The quality of both the food and the service at this location has completely gone down the drain. We ordered the catering-size guacamole, and what we got was a disgusting, brown mess that tasted sour and rotten. When we brought it to the cashier’s attention, she didn’t apologize—instead, she snapped back with an excuse about “that being the color of the avocados they get.” Seriously?
This place has clearly stopped caring about customers. If you want edible food and staff who don’t act like they’re doing you a favor just by speaking to you, go to the Chestnut Hill location instead. They actually know how to treat people, and their guac is fresh and delicious. Avoid the Brookline location like the plague.
Absolutely favorite burrito place in Boston! So fresh and delicious! Staff is always kind and helpful!! Love love love Chilacates!

Food was 10/10. Grab the birria tacos and the torta with in house made bread. Churros with condensed milk are also great. Great spot to go with some friends.
This place is not a good Mexican restaurant to go eat from. Bad customer service and the price of a taco is a rip off and depending what you are adding on the taco determines the price. Way too expensive and the food isn’t that great at all I will not be going back here no more.
I got the worst food poisoning of my life ordering from here for the first time. NEVER again. Sorely disappointed.
Best Burrito ever, on god
House of fantastic Chicken Quesadilla, and house of Strongbadia
