Garrison House Reviews
One of the worst meals we’ve ever had.
The plate of shaved raw brussel sprouts that I’ve attached a photo of was $16. $16. Did I mention it was raw? We had to send back our nachos because there was a piece of plastic in the cheese (which looked like it was out of a jar and fake), but I was also flabbergasted at the size for $22. The food should be priced at about half of what it is, but even so, do yourself a favor and stay away. Awful.
My breakfast poutine came to me with burnt fries and no “gravy” just watery sausage. It was bad. The chicken and waffles had good flavor but the portion size was disappointing with only one piece of each. The Power Bowl was far more of a salad. And the restaurant had kids’ plastic cups but no kids menu? Garrison House was the only place with reservations available for Mother’s Day and know I know why. Garrison House is a popular restaurant known for its great food and service. The establishment features live music on Thursday and Saturday, comedy on Sunday, and brunch Saturday and Sunday, making it a great spot for social gatherings. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including the Mac and cheese, lamb gyro wrap with French fries, and Chicken and Waffles. Guests enjoy the fresh pretzel bites and a great selection of beers, including pitchers and a killer Bloody Mary. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing good service to guests. The bar menu is pretty good, and the cozy atmosphere is enhanced by live music in the basement, which can be loud for some. The food is generally excellent, with favorites like the pretzel bites, mac and cheese, and the crispy fish sandwich with zesty dressing. Cocktails, such as espresso martinis and pear martinis, are also well-received. However, service can sometimes be slow, especially during busy times or large parties, and seating arrangements may not always be ideal. Despite these issues, the restaurant remains a recommended spot for those in Brookline, especially since it is less crowded than the busier sections of Coolidge Corner. Overall, Garrison House offers a lively and friendly environment with tasty food and drinks, perfect for socializing or celebrating special occasions.
