One of my favorite places for sushi in Boston! Open till 2am which is a PLUS cuz Lots of fresh options with fresh fish options absolutely love their selection. I sincerely miss this place after moving back to San diego

genki ya is a must visit when in coolidge corner! this location is a lot smaller than the tremont st location, with only a handful of tables inside. however, the lack of space is made up by the extensive menu and delicious food! both my friend and i ordered their japanese curry, which was delicious on its own! both plates, although one with chicken and one vegetarian, had the same curry base, so the real difference is the protein/side to the meal, but it's delicious! the service was quick and efficient as well. their menu seems to have quite a few different vegetarian options that i'm curious about so i'll have to come back to try them out!

The sushi is good here. They put a lot of large pieces of fish on their rolls and the ingredients like the rice and what not are usually fresh. I usually just stick to 2 or 3 of my go to rolls there. Rainbow roll, spicy tuna and the torched roll. Usually 1 waitress handles all the tables during a lunch or dinner service and food comes out fast.

I got 3 nigiri (2pc) for about $25 when I could've gone down the street and gotten a $11 burrito that would've actually made me full. It's not really worth the price. $9 for 2 pieces feels like a crime. The staff are good though, and the food quality is good.

they make pretty sushi. The caterpillar roll looks like a cute caterpillar. Miso soup is good. Sushi tastes average.

Best vegetarian sushi on the planet. And it's been the same superb quality for the past 10 + years. The sweet potato tempura roll is to die for, anything avocado is perfection. And the lunch special is insanely affordable.

The food is always delicious and the delivery usually comes pretty quick. I like the chicken katsu curry but the sushi is also very good. Definitely recommend this restaurant!

This is how my take out looked like when I opened the bag at home. Looks like a 2 days old sushi. Over 30 sushi's went directly to the trash

Great food that is slightly more expensive than other sushi places I've been to but it's also in Coolidge corner which is notoriously more expensive. Service is fast and friendly. There are tables inside and out when's it nice outsideParking: Parking lot around the corner on fuller st

We got a few rolls for a quick lunch. The miso soup was okay, but the rolls were great. Super fresh and with a lot of fish. Good rice to roll ratio.

I love the salmon and unagi rolls and nigiri here! Very fresh and the salmon has good texture. The sushi here takes out really well. It's definitely on the pricier side for casual sushi especially when dining in, but I'm a big fan of the lunch options.

I always enjoyed Genki Ya's Boston location so it was pleasant surprise to discover they were also in Brookline. It's more of a no-frills spot at this location but the service and sushi is just as good. They have an amazing spicy tuna on top of fried nori rice that I always get and recommend. And my friend and I tried a variety of rolls that incorporated shrimp tempura, yellowtail, scallop, etc. and every one was very fresh and tasty. Bonus they have a rare/coveted liquor license so we were able to enjoy wine with our meal as well!
