I order from Kaojiu frequently, I love their cold noodle dish, but I feel they need a better food quality control. For example, if I order at 6pm, the cold noodle is fresh, but if I order 12pm which they just open, the cucumbers, the texture of the noodles are pretty spoiled (cucumbers are soft, noodle are mushy) , it’s pretty obvious that the cold noodle is old. I’m not sure if this is the leftover of the day before or what, but I think they need to improve this.

What an experience to try Chinese-style barbecue in Greater Boston area. Every food is flavorful with all spices. The services are excellent too. Very recommended place to visit

Beef kabobs, too much fat not enough beef. Taste was ok
Pork dumplings was good fried. Ordered another dish.
Yellow tail fish needed much salt to have taste.

Delicious. Atmosphere was fun and our server was fantastic. Lamb was outstanding! Scallion pancakes were also pretty yummy.

Service was good but the food was not as good as before. We tried the food a couple of times before, it was good and we took friends there too. yesterday I took my mom there, the lamb pot had no favor, the bbq chicken heart or the chicken gizzard(not sure of was that) was bitter. the customers from the next table advised us not to order the dishes on their table because all of them were not good.

Came here twice already. Once with just my fiance and child and this time for my fiances birthday. I'm super glad they accommodated my party of 13. Will definitely be returning in the future.
Definitely recommend the egg fried rice, lamb bone hotpot, potato chips, beef kebab. Intially came because I missed the beef and lamb skewers back from when i visited China. I gotta admit this place is the real deal and is authentic.
Snapped a photo of the Hotpot and the lamb shank, didn't have time to snap the other food because everyone ate it so fast.

Overall bbq dishes are very slow: Lamp chops are tiny and dry and cold; every other dish is tiny portion tops. Plus floor is extra slippery, be careful.

Must get the lamb skewers, and cold noodles. On the lesser side for portion size though.

I've been meaning to try this place for a while, and got to try a lot of things as we went with a group of friends. Overall I would say that the food was good, but the flavors were a bit repetitive and nothing stood out. The fried rice was probably my favorite dish. The barbecue dishes all tasted similar and the mushrooms were sadly quite soggy and under seasoned.

The liangpi (cold noodles) is my favorite so far. They’re very authentic and perfect for a summer appetizer.
However, all the barbecue here is a bit too sweet for my taste. If you prefer your barbecue with a saucier and slightly sweeter flavor, this place is for you. Personally, I like my barbecue spicier and not sweet.
The lamb kebabs are awesome, but the chicken wings are a bit of a letdown. They’re small portions and overcooked.
Maybe next time I’ll try their drink list. It looks very interesting.

I came to pick up my order tonight (8/27/25) at 9:15PM. The Chinese waitress here is so rude and terrible. She refused to check whether my order is available or not. She did this to me 3 times already.
The owner needs to train her to be better served to the customer. I swear to God that I never come back to this terrible restaurant.

I usually don’t eat lamb because of the smell, but the lamb here didn’t smell at all and it was soft like melting in your your mouth!
