What a great find. We needed some late night (11pm) eats after a concert and we discovered Merai. Instead of settling for a slice of pizza, we ended up with one of the best meals. We had grilled hamachi collar with a lovely spicy tamarind/garlic dusting, the chicken rice (chicken wings stuffed with garlic fried rice and double fried), a kale salad with a spicy sweet pistachio dressing and roasted pumpkin, and their hot dog - decadently served on a brioche bun, salted yolk topping. We could have easily eaten our way through the whole menu. The cocktail menu was beyond. If you want an incredibly tasty and innovative Thai meal, come here.

Impeccable food and service! We came here for my birthday and all of the waitstaff were awesome. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake drink and my husband ordered Wonka’s ticket. Both drinks were well presented and interesting — I’m not sure that the strawberry cheesecake was my favorite drink, but I appreciated that it was different from anything else I’d tried.
For food, we ordered the pork dumplings, chicken rice, rigatoni, and the hot dog. All of the dishes were unique and well executed. The pork dumplings had a very nice celery note to them that made them different from other pork dumplings I’ve tried, the chicken rice was super unique in that it’s chicken stuffed with rice, garlicky and delicious. The rigatoni was a slightly bigger plate and had a good amount of heat to it, which I really enjoyed. It was a great fusion of Italian and Thai flavors. Lastly, the famous hot dog: super delicious and the bun was perfectly toasted. The egg yolk flavor comes through and the sausage had a nice snap. If I had one minor critique, it would be that each dish was very hot when it came out, and it was hard to wait for them to cool down a little. But that’s being picky because there wasn’t anything else to complain about ;)
Finally, we ordered the tiramisu, which was DELICIOUS! I am a dessert lover and very picky about tiramisu. I find a lot of them to be too soggy for my liking, but not this one! It had the perfect texture and flavor. It was not overly tea-tasting if that’s something you’re worried about. Would recommend ordering it! Our server also put a candle in it and sang happy birthday to me, which was lovely.
Last but certainly not least: the service was really excellent, especially in the age of post-Covid when I feel like service has decreased across the board. We were given a bottle of water, but the servers also came around to top off our water glasses and replaced the water bottle as soon as it was empty. This is a small but noticeable thing! We were also given fresh plates at one point since we’d tried a few different dishes. Plus there was the candle in the tiramisu and all of the servers came over and did a shot with us, which I really loved. It was the perfect amount of celebration! I’ve never had that happen before at any other restaurant and it was awesome.
In short: excellent food, excellent service. Overall felt like a very thoughtful experience. Would absolutely come back and would recommend for a special occasion!

The food and service here were exceptional!! Celebrated mine and my partners birthdays here. We ordered the tom kha mushroom risotto which CHANGED MY LIFE! I had the tomklong chazuke which was soo delicious and comforting. My partner had the buffalo wings and liked them! We ended the night with the Thai tea tiramisu which was perfect. Not to mention the service was so attentive and kind. An amazing night and can’t wait to go back!!!

What an amazing find! This place came across my TikTok feed, which can be hit or miss for food recs, but this place turned out to be great! I tried five dishes and I think my faves were the rigatoni and hotdog, but everything was delicious! The cocktails were also well done and offered interesting flavors I hadn’t tried before. The servers were sweet and attentive, we loved our waitress who took the time to talk with us and tell us more about the dishes. Will definitely be back to try more.

I would give this place a million out of ten because everything was SO GOOD!!! The service was excellent, the food was phenomenal (tends to be generally spicy, but in a warm way, not a scorch your mouth way), and the cocktails were just next level science.
