Nice place. Our club uses it for large functions where we rent out the full space for an evening.

Nothing special, just another restaurant with nothing surprising. How is it possible that they can make such an ugly pork rind? Something so easy to do!

I feel that it’s overprice, nothing special about the taste, I love Colombian food but some food there it’s far from that, no very flavorful.

The food is good. Fair dishes for their price.
The only thing is there is no good service. They pack the food that is left to take away themselves. Not even in a roadside restaurant... And even less so in Boston.

So sorry to say the food was very disappointing. The Chorizo Arepa included a 3 inch arepa which was cold and too hard to cut with a steak knife, the chorizo on the side was a dry single chorizo link. The beef empanada was single, about 4 inches long and barely warmed with filling so puréed it was unrecognizable. Appeared frozen. The yuca fries were delicious and freshly fried. I had Pollo a la Criolla or stewed chicken. A very large single flattened piece of chicken had the sauce ladled on top. Its edges were visibly dry and fibrous. The chopped tomatoes in the stew appeared right out of a can, the sprinkling of chopped parsley on top was dry and just sprinkled on. Most of the sauce was cold. My husband’s dish was similarly disappointing. I don’t think any of the food was freshly cooked, it appeared quickly and slightly warmed. I don’t think there is a cook in this kitchen. I hope this review alerts the owner to a need for redirection. The space is comfortable and waitress was attentive and lovely. Great (likely brought in) Tres Leches made us feel better. Stick with the bottled beer.

Great food, but what I wanted they were out of. Then I asked for a Cosmo, and the server had to ask the bartender if they could make it. My daughter ordered a High Noon, they didn't have it. At one point, I was going to ask, "So what do you have?"🤔 I'll go again but earlier in the day!

On October 13, 2024, we had lunch at Penol with about 14 people and spent a total of $485.81. Despite this significant amount, we were asked to leave because we stopped ordering more food and drinks. Some of the waitstaff seemed unhappy serving us. We had agreed to have just one check, but when we took time to split the bill ourselves—since they were unwilling to assist us—they became upset. Even the manager, who was initially nice, asked us to leave. This was the first time we’ve ever been kicked out of a place after spending nearly $500.

FYI, if you’re planning to host a large party, be cautious about this establishment.

I'm sorry to say this but the food here was so bad. The waitresses were nice and the atmosphere was cozy and feels like a high end Columbian restaurant. Unfortunately, every single dish we ordered tasted worst than Chipotle. The bill came out to over $200. I could've spent $20 for a better meal at Chipotle. Such a disappointment. Churasco was hard and had no flavor. Came with French fries which was not traditional, so I had to order tostones, plantains, salad and beans, which were all flavorless and bland.

Food is good. But the service from one of the waitresses was horrible. She made the experience horrible. She was so arrogant and dismissive. I felt uncomfortable. I will not dine inside. One bad apple will ruin the rest.
