Our wedding with Fireside Catering at The Stevens Estate was nothing short of perfect. Helen, our venue coordinator who is from Fireside Catering, was truly excellent for the entire time leading up to the wedding, always being so helpful and responsive to all the questions we had, no matter how small. She was so supportive of us and gave us so much good advice, we truly believe our wedding would not have been anywhere near as successful without Helen involved. Helen even went significantly out of her way to fulfill a special request that we had that added so much to our wedding, we are so appreciative of her for that. The staff, in addition to Helen and all from Fireside Catering, were also extremely courteous, with many of our guests commenting on how great the service and food was. Fireside Catering also takes such good care of people with allergies. They went far out of their way to make sure that every guest had delicious food no matter what their allergies were, and that made the event so much more special for each of our guests. The day was such a perfect day for all these reasons and we're so appreciative of Helen and all the catering staff for helping us have the best wedding we could have hoped for!
Unnecessarily Hostile Staff Behavior at Castle Hill, Ipswich – July 19, 4 PM
While I did not use Fireside Catering’s food or event services and therefore cannot comment on their quality, I feel compelled to share an upsetting encounter with individuals representing the company during their event setup at Castle Hill in Ipswich on July 19th around 4 PM.
My friends and I had traveled from out of town to celebrate a birthday. We purchased tickets in advance and joined a guided tour of the castle, which was lovely.
Around 4:15 PM, we began walking back toward the entrance, having been told by a staff member wearing a “Trustees” badge that the castle would close at 5 PM and we should return by 4:30 at the latest, without mentioning any private event. At 4:32 PM, with the doors still open and other visitors present, two of us entered the castle to use the public restrooms, which were clearly still accessible.
While inside the ladies’ restroom, an older man began shouting from the doorway, demanding we leave immediately because the restroom was being “cleaned for the bride” and she would arrive any minute. There was no courtesy, no explanation—just yelling. When I stepped out to calmly speak with him, I explained that we were paying visitors, and it was not yet closing time. His response: “Go use the plastic toilets outside in the parking lot.” He then physically stepped closer, seemingly to block us from entering again, and continued to speak in an unnecessarily aggressive manner. He locked the door after we left.
We later learned the event being prepared was managed by Fireside Catering, and these individuals were likely part of that setup crew.
We had a great day overall, but this unfortunate encounter left us with a lasting sense of discomfort. Regardless of the event schedule, there are better ways to communicate with guests—especially paying ones who are still within official visiting hours. A polite explanation would have been entirely sufficient.
I truly hope the management at Fireside Catering reflects on how their staff engages with the public. Courtesy and professionalism should extend beyond the clients and include anyone who happens to interact with your team. Experiences like this affect how your brand is perceived—and unfortunately, our impression was not a good one.
Amazing tasting food and even better staff! We had Susan and Dinalo at the fruitlands museum and they did an exceptional job. So thankful to have such great service on such a special event. They made such a great day even better!!!
Since we booked our venue at the Crane Estate, we were automatically going to use Fireside Catering services. We were so excited to be working with this company! During the food tasting, we were able to sample absolutely delicious food from all courses of the meal. We ended up picking the beef and fish option for the wedding, and we used the chef’s vegan/vegetarian choice as the third option. Each dish was flavorful, and it was gourmet quality.
For the wedding, the guests loved their dishes. They were glad that they could have a variety of choices for their eating needs. Those who had severe allergies were catered to specifically so they could safely enjoy the dinner. People reported to me that this was the best food they had ever had at weddings they attended. Use this company!
We had our wedding at The Bradley Estate which works with Fireside Catering and we're so glad we didn't even have to choose a caterer because Fireside would be the only right choice. We were impressed with the variety of menu options and their ability to accommodate so many food allergies/dietary restrictions with celiac disease in my family. The quality of the food on our actual wedding day exceeded our expectations, even after we did a tasting. The servers were all fantastic, getting all 150 orders correct and keeping water glasses full on our 90 degree day. They also were incredibly attentive to us (bride and groom) and knew all four of our parents by name. The chef was super accommodating and found a way to include our favorite local ice cream in the ice cream bar which was a hit. We received many compliments on the food from our guests, even from one of our friends who is a chef!
I just attended a wedding catered by Fireside Catering, they handled the 200 guests effortlessly and with a smile! John, Emily, and his crew were completely and totally outstanding in every aspect of the service they provided. I fully recommend them to anyone on the fence considering this company. They truly felt as they were part of the family and fit in seamlessly with everyone who approached them. Not to mention the extensive knowledge of moctails meant even with my 7 years of sobriety, every time I went up for a drink they had something non alcoholic for me to try. I cannot recommend them enough.
Good food but the bartenders were rude specifically George.
We had a wonderful experience with Fireside for our wedding! They were one of the catering options for our venue, Long Hill in Beverly, and we are so glad we went with them. Our event manager, Jessica, was so on the ball and gave us a lot of confidence going into the wedding day - and everything went exactly as it should have. We got so many compliments on the service, particularly the bartenders. The food itself was delicious and the presentation of everything was very professional and well-done. They also did a great job with managing allergies and food restrictions. Highly recommend!

Fireside Catering was the required catering company for my wedding venue, The Estate at Moraine Farm. I'm SO glad that we couldn't pick someone else, though, because their food and drinks were AMAZING! We went with short rib, cod, and vegetarian dishes, and people were raving about the food all night. The passed apps were a HUGE hit, and so were the drinks (especially the signature gin drink!). The team at Fireside took such good care of us and our guests on our wedding day, and even leading up to it as well - their tasting events are so fun and delicious to boot! We had a blast working with them, and I'd recommend any venue with Fireside Catering to anyone getting married.
We had our wedding at Crane Estate this past August and Maura and the team at Fireside Catering were amazing! Our guests were raving about how good the food was and how efficient the service was. Also we opted for cookies and cupcakes for desserts for our guests but wanted a very small cake for just bride and groom and they absolutely delivered on that as well!! We would highly recommend Fireside for your special event!!
I have attended many weddings, and Fireside's Catering is above and beyond the food I usually encounter at other weddings & catering services. Their food is delicious and décor/ambiance is always well done.I have also had the pleasure of join the catering team as a server over the past two years, and yes catering is not easy, but the employees/team members are what make the job enjoyable, and make me want to keep coming back weekend after weekend.
Amazing people always went above and beyond for me for the 3 seasons I was with the company. The culinary director is the best chef I've ever worked for. I learned so much from this company will always be grateful for fireside cattering. They always set me up for success and have the most hard working stewards and dish team. Fireside is made up of incredible people working hard to pull of amazing weddings.
Do not work for this company at all. They will treat you like you are less of a person. They have no humility nor respect for people or their family situations, to neglect the request of a Human Resources representative is Concerning, more enough to say "We dont have HR we handle everything in house, we will get back to you when we want" -Jessica. Is completely unacceptable beyond measure.
