Last month a good friend took us to Karma in Burlington for a special dinner. From the moment our server greeted us, we knew this was going to be a great dining experience. The atmosphere at Karma is incredible: the design, the ambience and the vibe.
Our Chinese-American friend is familiar with the menu so he ordered for us and told us we were going to enjoy a fabulous dinner.
These are the dishes we had: hamachi Thai basil, karma three layers, scallions pan cake, Peking duck, oba tempura with uni and caviar, king salmon with kale, yellow tail with coconut dressing, fried noodles, and some other dishes that were memorable on my palate but I can’t recall ther names. All together, we had about 12 dishes served at just the right pace. Each one had a presentation deserving of a photo in Bon Appetit or Food and Wine.
The dishes were unusual in an innovative way, each better than the previous one. This created a wonderful sense of anticipation as we looked forward to what was coming next, as each dish was a surprise. it was a magical culinary tour that we’ll never forget.
Many years ago during a trip to France with friends, I had the opportunity to eat at five Michelin 3-star restaurants in Paris, Lyon and Provence. I can still remember several individual dishes from 50 years ago. This meal at Karma was just as memorable and though I won’t live another 50 years to savor the memory, I will have the opportunity to return frequently to Karma to revisit one of the best restaurants I have eaten at. Certainly, the best in New England. I hope that @MichelinGuide decides to put out a guide for New England. I hear it is in the works.

My husband and I decided to try out this restaurant for the first time last night and we’re so glad we did ! This place was not only aesthetically pleasing but the food was amazing . We got crab Rangoon’s to start and they were so good we had to order another order . For our entrees we got the pork fried rice , vegetable fried rice , and the mango chicken . The portions are definitely big and can be for two people . Our waitress was also very kind . We will definitely be returning and recommending to others !

My party and I were asked to leave our table by the manager on call today Friday night (12/6/24) after finishing our meal, despite there being no clear time limit communicated when we arrived. While I understand the need to manage table turnover, the way it was handled felt rude and unprofessional. As paying customers, we expected to enjoy our dining experience without being rushed. This left a bad impression, and unfortunately, I can’t see myself returning or recommending this place to others. Customer service should always come first.” And we spend over $400 for only 3 people for less than 2 hours. Absolutely disappointing. The server was really nice and she did a great job but the manager came over our table more than 5 times asking us to leave.
