The Friendly Toast

Good food. Expensive as hell. $80 for two people out the door? Replaced fries and toast for a pancake with “up charge”. Charged full $10 for “up charge”.

the friendly toast has been a favorite of mine since i lived in VT. the one in Burlington, MA is still the absolute crown jewel of their MA locations (maybe it’s the name of the city!). i love going to this location and always am looking forward to the next time.

Very disappointed in the quality of the food. The home fries in my eggs Benedict were cold… The hollandaise sauce was tasteless.

I waited about 10 minutes just to get a glass of water… One of the workers told me they do not serve water!
Service in general was slow and I don’t think I’ll return too soon to spend that kind of money for breakfast

Interesting brunch spot with plenty of drink and food options. Went on a Saturday morning and got seated immediately, though it was pretty busy. Pickle bloody Mary was delicious to start. All the dishes we ordered were tasted amazing and we appreciated the quick service. Would visit again.

Went early on a weekday. Great service and food. Pancakes are huge and delicious.

Food was really good. I really enjoyed the avocado toast. The service was not terrible but also not good. The waitress came to take our orders and we saw her maybe 2 more times. We kinda felt left out, she checked up on her other tables but for whatever reason she left us out.

Loved the chicken and waffles and the cinnamon swirl French toast! Excellent service and super fun atmosphere.

Our server was impatient, rushing us to order. She also forgot to ask one of my friend what does she want for drinks.

My omelet was average.

The omelette was really mushy and soggy and the far from appetizing. Sitting in a pool of water. I barely touched it and ordered something else, and the server didn’t offer to take it off. Their drinks were good, but the food was not. Wouldn’t recommend.

Interesting move of the Friendly Toast into a mall setting. They tried hard to maintain their traditional ambiance but the strains show. Food was good, as expected, but portion sizes were a bit smaller; which both of us appreciated.
