This is a review for the Viet Citron that recently opened in Kendall Square. Viet Citron clearly posts their prices (as they note in their responses to reviews), but potential customers should be aware that a bowl of pho with tip can be upwards of $20-$24 which is much higher than most Vietnamese restaurants in the area. That being said, the portion size was substantial. Their broth is rich with flavor, but for those that don’t prefer a heavy, oily broth should be aware that it’s a little greasier than I’m accustomed to. The quality of the ingredients were great. I wish that chicken pho was a standard item on their menu for those who want a lighter broth, but it wasn’t offered at the time I visited in Kendall.

The service and ordering system is pretty backwards and confusing. But once you figure it out/ stand there like an idiot for 5 minutes - one of the best bowl’s of Pho I’ve ever had. Pricey but worth it. And they by far have the best fresh limeade! (Pro tip - ask to add a little salt to yours - life changing!)

terrible food. The pork rib is hard but burnt. The beef bahmi is very salty and oily. Also super overpriced

I love viet citron!! I usually get the rice bowl and the meat is fresh, flavorful and plentiful. You can’t go wrong with the lemongrass ribs, crispy pork belly, sirloin, or the chicken. The spring rolls are crispy and delicious. They have limited specials every so often and they are also great, I always try to get them when they have them. The place is clean, service is great, and the food never misses.

While I had driven by Viet Citron so many times I had never gone in. I was feeling sniffly and my friend suggested I get some Phở. The man behind the counter area was busy helping people eating, other kitchen staff, and was very efficient. He took my order and was very kind. There was a man chopping up some meat and it was entertaining to watch how busy the kitchen was yet it seemed like organized and choreographed, not chaos.

The tofu pho was very tasty and I like how the takeout was packaged. Will definitely be going back.

Usually they are super good, and we order from them all the time. Tonight we received less than half the broth we usually get. We come here at least 2x per month Not a good sign

Staff is extremely friendly. We went about 45 minutes before they closed and even though it got really busy fast the staff would try to get everyone's orders out on time and would answer any questions you had. Apologized for having to wait but it's understandable with how busy it got. 10/10
