I had high hopes for this restaurant. Locals have raved about it. I went all out & bought $70- worth of food. Here’s my take: -Won ton soup - Just some won tons & shredded lettuce on top. Broth had none of the subtle flavors it should have. Nothing even interesting. No slices of pork. No Bok choy. Bland & boring. -Hot & sour - excellent! Pungent. Lots of ingredients. Great taste & consistency. -Pan Fried raviolis- you get 8 of the smaller-sized dumplings. Not like the huge ones where you get 6 in a box. Flavorful. Nothing extraordinary. -Chicken fingers - I tasted my son’s. Mediocre. They almost tasted reheated. Outside breading was a bit dry so that took away from a nice crispy bite. Chicken was dry. -Shrimp pad Thai - the worst I’ve ever had! This is why I’m even writing my review. This dish had absolutely no flavor. It’s almost like they forgot any of the required ingredients to balance the sweet, salty and sour required for pad thai..no fish sauce (rice vinegar) or tamarind paste & not even 1 chili flake. I couldn’t even taste any garlic. And no bean sprouts either. Just a heavy clump of noodles with bits of scallion & a couple of large clumps of scrambled eggs. They did top with chopped peanuts. The shrimp were disgusting! It’s hard to describe but they weren’t solid. They were mushy. I saved to afford a special dinner out. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed.
Sushi was okay, but I ordered a sushi plate (13 pieces of fish fillets over rice) but received 7 pieces + a spicy roll. Even though the description was completely wrong, they refused to refund me and just offered a small partial store credit. I asked for them to update the description so it’s not misleading, but was just met with “that’s just how we do it”. Feels disappointing because I would’ve just ordered something else if the description was correct, but it was their denial of any wrongness that won’t have me coming back 🤷🏻♀️

I use to go here a few years back when I lived in the area and always enjoyed it. I really enjoy reviewing Asian restaurants. This is more of a Chinese/Japanese fusion restaurant. I happened to be in the area the other day, and decided to check it out.
We walked in were greeted by very friendly staff. Modern decor with booths, tables and a large bar. Everything looked very clean.
I have to note that I have rated close to 100 Asian restaurants. I can cook the majority of the dishes. With that said, Gourmet Garden make one of the best Hot and Sour Soups that I have ever had. Boston, NYC, LA, Miami. This is legit with the perfect fillers, tofu, black fungus, golden needle just to name a few. It is thick with that strong flavor we grew up on. It does have a slightly higher heat level which really complimented it. Have some napkins ready. After finishing it, trust me you will eat it all. You might also look like you've been pepper sprayed. It will clear out your sinuses, numb your face and tickle your toes. It really is a great combination and is in my top 3 out of the hundred or so I have had.
To be honest, I was in the area to go to another Chinese restaurant to have amazing Chinese ribs but they were closed. I think it's fate. It lead me to that mind blowing Hot and Sour Soup and I found some other great vittles too.
As a fusion restaurant, they didn't have traditional Chinese Spareribs on the Bone. They did however have Thai ribs!! These were sticky, tangy, sweet falling off the bone goodness! I highly recommend.
Lobster Sauce and Pork Fried Rice combination was very solid. Shrimp were cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed their Lobster Sauce. Flavors were on point.
Egg Rolls were more of the fusion style heavy on the cabbage. They made a nice vessel to have some of the hot mustard that after taking to big a glob you're chugging water and want to take the fetal position. These were good with duck sauce and hot mustard!
My daughter had Sushi and really liked it!
Such a great area for Chinese Food. Starting in Sharon with authentic Chinese food down through Canton and Stoughton! A lot of great choices. The more we support them, we get to keep having choices. Definitely recommend checking this place out!
Parking: Huge parking lot.
Kid-friendliness: If the kids are good.
Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap spots outside. Appears the layout will easily accommodate a wheelchair.

Good but expensive. A waitress pushed through my group without excusing themselves. It was kinda rude. Good menu
**Review: Disappointing Experience**
We visited Gourmet Garden in Canton to celebrate my friend’s birthday expecting a pleasant evening, but unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. First, they missed our reservation, which was a major inconvenience. When we were finally seated, the waiter was unprofessional and seemed disorganized.
To make matters worse, our meals were messed up, leading to further disappointment. As if that weren’t enough, we were told that we didn’t leave enough of a tip, which felt completely unwarranted given the service we received.
⭐️⭐️
I noticed that my credit card was charged twice for the same meal. I have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere here, so this incident was particularly disappointing.
. While I appreciate the quality of the food, the inconvenience of dealing with unauthorized charges has turned me off from returning anytime soon.
I recommend anyone dining here to double-check their receipts and monitor their bank statements closely.
Overall I would not recommend Gourmet garden in Canton, as my experience did not meet a basic expectations of dinning out.

Absolutely FLAWLESS and DELICIOUS!
I wanted to sit down and eat in a nice place, and I had only eaten from Gourmet Garden once before (a friend had ordered us take-out). It was delicious that time, too.
After eating in, I felt a review was necessary.
We went in on a Monday evening around 6:30pm (7/16/24), so not too busy.
There were other patrons, and some orders on the shelfs for pickup.
We were greeted and seated as soon as the hostess finished with the customer ahead of us.
I had just enough time to inspect the table, silverware, and placemat for cleanliness (all was spotless) before our waitress introduced herself and gave us menus.
The waitress was awesome, I'm sorry I can't remember your name!
We ordered 2 sodas.
She served them to us almost instantly.
I immediately spotted the carbonation through the drinking glasses (not something that I see often in my dining experiences ?).
We started with the crab-rangoons, which were delivered to our table in just minutes.
They were cooked to perfection and tasty.
In my opinion, they could have had a bit more crab taste, but still yummy.
We ordered the Happy Family (B9), the Crystal Scallops (Sf14), and pork fried rice.
I was quite impressed how quickly our order was delivered to our table. I knew something had to be wrong...but I was wrong!
Everything was hot, smelled incredible, and tasted wonderful.
We dove in before I started taking pictures (the crab-rangoons weren't so lucky, lol. They got eaten before I thought of taking pictures!).
Some reviewers complained of too much salt. Not in our food (I don't like a lot of salt and almost never add salt to anything).
The duck sauce was superb. When you see me drinking it, you KNOW it's good!
The waitress chuckled when she saw me drinking it ?
Now let me tell ya about their fried rice...
As a rule, I dislike fried rice. Mostly because--at least in my experiences--VERY FEW places actually make GOOD fried rice!
I could eat their fried rice by the truckload!
Hot, steamy, fresh, delicious.
Certainly not hard, dry, or bland, like many others!
I was so delighted by my experience at Gourmet Garden that not only did I give our waitress a 30% tip, I thanked my friend who introduced me to Gourmet Gardens, ranted about how great EVERYTHING was for the next hour, and finally, wrote this review the next morning!
I love Gourmet Gardens, and will be back soon!

Wel, I got a dinner plate. Everything tasted fresh however I was informed it only came with 1 small piece of egg foo young. Most places give 2 pieces of egg foo young.
The appetizer, chicken fingers, was good but small. . Pork fried rice bland. Didn’t get a great first impression. Probably will go elsewhere in the future for a better value.

This place is absolutely HORRIBLE!!! We ordered last night for delivery, and we were quoted 35 minutes to wait. WE WAITED A WHOLE HOUR!!! And then the driver lied to my father about the restaurant being busy upon arrival. And then, the manager or owner or whoever the heck he was called my house, and was SO RUDE to my mother about how “an hour is a normal wait time and it got there”, basically telling her to shut up about it. He placed a 10 dollar credit on our number if we ever decide to go back, but we will NEVER order from here again!!! This restaurant should be ashamed of themselves. And then the food when it arrived was overcooked, had no flavor, and was cold. Thank you for nothing, Gourmet Garden. We will never be back.
