I have been to Tambo multiple times now and each time the food has tasted just as delicious. It’s hard to find consistency and the food is amazing every time. Tambo is truly one of the best restaurants around. The place is beautiful and the whole staff is the kindest of people. Tambo is a must try if you ever want to know what Peruvian food should really taste like.

I made a reservation yesterday at this restaurant, the food was okay but not really that good for what I expected, but the prices were absurd for the type of place, and for the food they serve, there is not much variety either, the service is a bit bad there is not much staff and it takes a while, it is small too, I was not satisfied at all, additionally when we went to pay it is the first place I go to and they charge me a wellness fee apart from the tip

The food is amazing. I ordered the arroz con patio, it was delicious, the Peruvian pearl peppers on the dish blew my mind. This was complimented by a pisco sour which was a beautifully crafted cocktail. I’ll definitely be back to try some other dishes.

Tambo 22 Peruvian Kitchen & Bar served one of the best meals I’ve ever had—without a doubt, a 6 out of 5! Every dish was a flavor explosion, but the Arroz Con Pato (duck with bomba rice) stole the show. The duck was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the rice was packed with such incredible flavor, I found myself savoring every bite.

I also had the Anticuchos de Carne y Camarones (grilled beef and shrimp skewers) and the Pulpo Al Olivo (octopus), which were both exquisite. The beef and shrimp were perfectly charred, and the octopus was incredibly tender, with a delightful olive sauce. The Lomo Saltado A Lo Diego (grass-fed beef tenderloin) was a comforting, rich dish that hit all the right notes.

Aside from the unforgettable food, Chef Jose Duarte and his partners, Brian and Taylor Corcoran, made the experience even better with their warm, friendly hospitality. Their passion shines through in every aspect of the restaurant, and hearing their story about supporting the Santa Cruz Lodge in Peru added a heartwarming touch to the evening.

Tambo 22 is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic, top-tier Peruvian cuisine. I’ll be back for sure!

Parking: Streetside parking in front of the restaurant and a small lot to the side.

Finally made it to this restaurant after finding out about it several months ago.

Food, service and ambience were all good. Lomito de Chancho and the ceviche were very good. Mixed drinks were good but very light on the alcohol.

Parking can be a challenge but there are options in and around the neighborhood.

Only issue was the 3% Fair wage & Wellness fee. I was not aware of this fee nor did I see the notice on the menu. Maybe I missed it. When I asked the server about the fee, she was not really able to explain the fee but that is somewhat understandable. This is a practice that is becoming more and more prevalent in the industry and it can’t be any more ridiculous. They all use different terms for the fee but it is all nonsense. Employee fair wage, wellness, kitchen staff fee or whatever you want to call it, it is not the responsibility of the customer. The consumer is certainly paying for all of those when paying the already highly inflated prices we have become used to paying while dining out.

If you don’t mind paying nonsense fees, the place is worth a visit. It’s become more about principle at this point.

The food was absolutely delicious. I had a pulled chicken dish and my friend had the steak – and both were excellent. And my sangria was some of the best sangria I’ve ever had. The neighborhood is Nothing to look at and parking was somewhat of a pain, but the food was worth it.

The staff, food and atmosphere is all top tier. This is the best restaurant in Chelsea, with amazing flavors and great music. Great for a family get together, to catch up with a friend, or go on a date. They have unique offerings you can't find elsewhere.

This restaurant was a complete disaster. This shouldn’t be called a Peruvian restaurant. The food was not Peruvian, it was completely Americanized. I ordered rice and they give me mac and cheese rice? The taste and flavor was nowhere near Peruvian taste and flavor. Also, since when are Churros Peruvian?

Absolutely wonderful spot in Chelsea - hidden Gem! Love the mural outside and outdoor seating while the space inside is cozy and hip. Literally everything we got was incredible - I had my first Pisco with Purple Corn and it was delicious. The Yuca Frites and Ceviche were delicious starters and the empanada special and Alpaca burger were super unique and flavorful! I'm super lucky to have this in my neighborhood and we'll definitely be back soon.

The food here is fantastic. The cocktails are fantastic. This is likely the best restaurant for miles around. It's definitely worth a visit.

Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian options, but most of the menu has meat.

Parking: There wasn't much parking... A small lot and a bit of street parking nearby.
