Nashoba Brook Bakery is a beloved community institution. I think the gap btw my rating and the average rating reflects some of the warm feelings folks have for its place in their lives. This review is for people who just want to know about the cafe as a cafe
**Atmosphere: homey, lovely view, cross-section of the community. A little cold (visually and temperature). Acoustics are good if you want to be in a buzzy space but bad if you want to communicate
**Menu: Ok. very 80’s-90’s. Range of baked goods on the sweet and large size. Egg sandwiches homey and generous. I’m a vegetarian so I’m always unsatisfied by the lunch options but that is true of many bakery/cafes with fairly traditional menu.
**Service. So many people operating inefficiently. But that’s also kinda sweet and homey. The bigger issue is that the staff hasn’t been trained to compensate for the acoustics (some places with similar problems encourage the staff to always repeat what they think they heard to confirm). As a result, they get a lot of orders wrong or answer one question when you are actually asking another. It seems to happen to a couple different people every time that I’ve been there. The staff are friendly so they always fix things but often with a “well why didn’t you just say so” attitude. And that kinda sours the experience.

Always the most fresh and satisfying sandwiches on the tastiest bread. Baked goods never disappoint and beverages are so tough to pass up! So grateful to live so close to this spot!

I love this bakery and cafe. The sourdough is “real” slow rise bread with the best sour taste. The cafe is a great place to hang out and it is located along Nashoba Brook. I had the beef chili today with two slices of fresh bread, which was a daily special. It was “spicy,” exactly to my taste, but maybe too much for some. They use MEM brand tea and the Earl Gray is a personal favorite. Kudos for offering composting and recycling.

It is a little hard too find. The entance is in back along the river. It's well worth the effort to find it. But I almost gave up.

I purchased the slow-rise sourdough bread at Ben’s Sugar Shack in New Hampshire and noticed something wasn’t quite right with the loaf. I contacted the store where I bought it, but didn’t receive much of a response, so I reached out to the company directly.

I couldn’t have asked for better customer service. They were incredibly responsive, explained how to properly store the bread to keep it fresh, and even sent a replacement bag to our home so our family could try it.

The timing couldn’t have been better — our household was dealing with the stomach flu, and good bread was exactly what we needed. The bread was absolutely delicious. What I loved most was how clean and fresh it tasted.

I will definitely be purchasing again and hope to visit the store in person someday.

We are hosting a French exchange student this fall. She has suffered American bread in silence since August. Last week we decided to treat ourselves and get a baguette from Nashoba to have with dinner. She took one bite and said “this is very good!” with complete shock. I don’t know what higher praise can be given to a bakery.

Everything was great, I was looking for fresh bread with good wholesome ingredients and this is it. I had a little issue with shipping, but the CEO of Nashoba took care of the issue immediately. Thank you for your honesty and Integrity!

Tried this place out after biking the rail trail. What a great spot. The sandwich I had was fantastic with great bread. Nice vibe with the pedestrian bridge out back. Will definitely be back.

A great bakery and coffee show with delicious food. We stopped for some takeout and got a breakfast sandwich and a curried chicken salad along with coffee. Everything was fresh and delicious and the staff was helpful and friendly. It took a few minutes since it was all made to order but well worth a short wait. Everything was delicious and a great value for the quality and quantity. There is plenty of seating indoors with tables and chairs. This is a great option for breakfast or lunch in the area.
