One of the best restaurants on the north shore. The best pork chop you'll ever have.

We visited here for our 27th anniversary. It was quaint and there was good service. The waitress made good recommendations. I was torn between the duck and the pork chop. I ended up getting the chop cooked medium, as was recommended to me. It was a bit tough actually and I wish I would have gotten the duck. My husband had the filet mignon and it was delicious. The prices are reasonable but higher than a regular sit down place. Things were cooked from scratch. We enjoyed our time.

Server we had didn’t do a single thing to make us ever want to come back. No lorecommendations. Didn’t pour our water once. Was MUCH more personable than the other tables in comparison to ours. Why? I haven’t a clue. But she seemed very uninterested in serving us. Took 10+min to greet us, and took forever to come clear the table after we were done eating. She wasn’t friendly. She wasn’t bad, but she was by no means good. Still tipped over 25%. For $140 per person, you can’t even pour my water?

That’s concludes the service.

Now I understand that food preferences are subjective, but with that being said, the food here is mediocre. It’s not bad, but it’s nothing to write home about. There’s nothing bad about it at all I promise you, but for $140 pp there’s much better more satisfying places you can go to. I’m so upset at myself for believing this was the best restaurant in the north shore lol.

If you’re a foodie, RUN BACK TO BOSTON.

I literally have 0 reason to recommends this place to anyone but they won’t have an issue at all at this place, their guests seem like regulars. Maybe that’s why they got better service than us.

Had to ASK for bread too LOL “please give us bread, or did you “forget” that too.

Great meal at 9 Elm. The waitress was very attentive and personable. Three of us got filet with mashed and veggies (carrots, green beans, asparagus) and one got salmon. We all loved our meals. The filet was cooked perfectly and was a great size. One of the best we’ve had in a long time. La Crema Chardonnay is a favorite and reasonably priced with a great pour. Looking forward to returning soon!

Got some good news and never had been here so made reservations. Food was great. Service not so much. Ordered a split of champagne. It did not arrive until after we had finished our appetizer. (The lobster ravioli was awesome!). Asked the waiter to hold our meal so we could enjoy our champagne. He even asked when we wanted it. But no, it came right out after a couple of sips. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and try again but i must say i was disappointed.

My wife and I have not had much luck with dining out lately so when it came to picking a restaurant for our anniversary dinner I was nervous that I would find the right place. I came across Nine Elm and read the reviews. They were amazing. So we made a reservation but I was still cautiously optimistic. Things could not have gone better! We arrived and where we were seated was noising, not what we wanted for an anniversary dinner. When I asked the waitress if there was a quieter spot she went to speak to the manager in we were moved immediately. The general atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and the staff is very friendly but professional. The wine was lovely and the food delicious. We ordered the duck and the swordfish special and they were both cooked to perfection. For dessert we split a Creme Brule. The custard was light and creamy a pleasant surprise. We had an amazing time. We will be back!

We went to 9 Elm on a Wednesday to celebrate a family event, and we are so happy we checked them out! The food was impeccable!

My wife got the wedge which was fresh and cold, with a marvelous homemade bleu cheese dressing. Their signature french onion was LOADED with onion and had a wonderful wine flavor. It was perfected seasoned and salted, with a great crouton sopping up that wonderful broth. Did I mention the flamed slice of Gruyere? Just outstanding! As for dinner, our dishes included a perfectly cooked, huge grilled pork chop, medium rare duck breast sliced over creamy risotto for my wife, and one dish of bolognese which was literally the best I've ever had. Since the pasta was mine here's more - it was perfectly al dente, with a pork/veal/lamb slow-cooked bolognese finished with just a hint of cream......delicious. Shaved parmesan topped the huge dish, with plenty for dinner and enough leftovers for a great lunch. Chef Matt and his team have created a fantastic menu that they execute flawlessly. My son has peanut/nut and shellfish allergies which they accommodated without hesitation. Drinks are priced modestly and their signature cocktails are excellent. What's not to love? It's a new go-to restaurant for us - looking forward to our next visit!

Be sure to make a reservation.

What a great night we had! Jackie was our bartender and server. She was attentive, observant and very personable—our kind of bartender. The food was spectacular and presented beautifully from the bread service to the shrimp crostini app, filet mignon (and sides) and crème brûlée. Wines were very nice, too, with generous pours. It was my husband’s birthday and we both loved it. We will definitely be back soon.

I give up. This restaurant used to be our go to night out. The meal we had today will be our last. Overcooked duck, and scallops that smell so bad we couldn’t eat them. Quality has been slipping for years, but we held and tired to give them the benefit of the doubt. Tonight was too much. Goodbye 9 Elm.
