Food is really good, warm chips and salsa... Prices are decent. The service is terrible. Not busy. Time from ordering to getting simple food was 25 minutes. Staff had a great time laughing and chatting at the bar - finally got up to ask for bill, than waited another 10 minutes at the cashier's desk for someone to take our money... Finally left it on the desk and walked out.
The food is authentic and very good at a reasonable price. You will not find hamburgers or hotdogs here. The only detriment is that the leather in the curved booths is torn and patched, which ruins the otherwise great atmosphere.
We ordered takeout from Mexicali Cantina Grill after going to the AMC theater. They are open late and located near the theater so that is a plus for people who want to have a decent meal after a movie. We ordered at the theater, drove 5 minutes and the food was ready when we got there so it was quick. We ordered the shredded chicken flautas and the chicken burrito bowl.
