Everytime we ate it was Excellent my family
the service was excellent ,the food was outstanding , atmosphere wonderful ,had not been there in over 20 years ,we will be back .We had Thanksgiving Dinner is was fantastic !!!
I want to say the staff was great! Our waitress was fantastic and everyone was friendly. Salad bar is very good! The food is ok. They should not be charging $50 for a steak when it’s way too cooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside. The drinks were way too strong. We read bad reviews and went against our better judgement and I wish I had gone with our gut feeling and not gone but we did and now we’re out $200 and wasted food. It’s a beautiful place so hopefully they can step it up with the food.

I’ve been here numerous times and the food is typically pretty good. The salad bar is always great however, the seafood dishes I have found to be overcooked on various occasions. The prime rib is good but beware of UP-CHARGES! We were offered garlic smashed potatoes and told there would be an up-charge. NEVER did I think for a moment the charge was an ADDITIONAL $7 for mashed potatoes instead of the regular baked potato! It was my fault for not clarifying but come on! I wrongly assumed it would be a few dollars extra. I was also taken aback by the $4 charge for each seltzer water, not a special seltzer like Pellegrino, just one from the fountain. So lesson learned. The food was good but I am a little soured on the experience with the up-charges. The service was good however, unless I really want the salad bar, I think I will go someplace else.

I’m from Wisconsin and know supper clubs and was very pleasantly surprised to find one in the Boston area. Food was very good including the salad bar, fresh bread station and of course the cheese. Very attentive staff, especially Scarlett! I felt like there were three people serving me. I highly encourage you to give this place a try. I had the grilled pork chops and was so excited to eat it that I forgot to take a picture for you.
Early October update. Tried this restaurant again three more times and twice first week of October. Had an over done pork chop that was dry as a bone, salmon that was so very fishy and tonight a $42 ribeye that was inedible. Took six bites all around the steak to find a piece not full of gristle or tough as a bad sirloin and could not find it. Staff did not care that I ate virtually none of it. The vegetable medley is broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and beans. I do not mind it being slightly on the raw side, but come on, it was lukewarm, oversized pieces that were so off putting. I would prefer raw over what they offered. My martini tonight was room temperature. Yuck. The salad bar was still amazing however and was the only part of my $74 meal that was worth having. I do a fair number of reviews and generally rate places well. If you are reading this, you know the type that is always complaining. That is not me. I gave it three chances in a few weeks and am so disappointed as their restaurant is very charming.
Dietary restrictions: I mostly eat a keto friendly diet and had no issues finding a lot of choices.

The place was so loud we literally could not have a conversation with eachother. $45 a plate, one would hope to be able to hear the waitstaff. I will NEVER COME BACK HERE. Neither will my family.

Been a long time but my husband and I decided to go to this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. We both got the prime rib, horrible, I couldn't eat it or even cut a piece. I was as tough as a beef jerky stick. Honestly, 32.00? The salad bar was great, but I will not go back and will not recommend to my friends. The waitress was cleary busy and she never came to check on us. I took it home and in the trash it will go, such a disappointment. Will go to the 99 next time. They have delicious prime rib. Couldn't get out fast enough.

My family took me there tonight for my birthday. We should have known to leave when our server told us that it should quiet down by the time we got our meal. There was a table of 7 obnoxious women there that were so loud we could not hear each other. The waiter apologized but the manager did nothing about this. There was absolutely no reason that this should have been such a horrible experience if the manager had just done his job and those women had acted like adults (keep in mind he walked through the dining room several times). We will not be back. You’ve lost no less than 3 generations (and their friends) of future business and I am sure that we are not the only guest that feels this way.

The only thing good about this place is the hostess Michele. Literally absolutely disgusting prime rib came out rare and bloody with a ton of fat. I ordered it medium rare and the rice pilaf was not even cooked! I would have got something else but the waitress was terrible! She never even came back until the very end when we got the check. We were there very early. There was nobody in the restaurant. There is no excuse for this like it was absolutely horrible and I got sick from the prime rib the next day. This place went downhill. It’s not even funny.! The manager gave us an around $15 off one meal which is absurd because we couldn’t even eat both! Seriously don’t waste your money go somewhere nicer like copper door in Salem nh. People were in there in shorts and t shirts I Thought this place was upscale?? Never going again gross and horrible customer service 👎

I've been coming here for birthdays, family reunions, around Christmas, and even Thanksgiving, for 10+ years and always had an excellent experience with stellar service. Salad bar is superb and meat is prepared to perfection. Never had a bad time at the Hardcover. Will be back
