I had so much hope for this hole in the wall restaurant but was a bit disappointed. It took forever for us to get our food and drinks. There were people who arrived after us but left way before we even received our appetizers. The food was ok. 3 stars might be a little generous but the appetizers were pretty good. Overall we spent almost 2 hours there which was brutal.

For starters we sat down and had to move the table since it was so close to one side of the booth. As I moved it the leg of the table folded under the table and it dropped on my girlfriend’s lap. The girl that sat us down chuckled and says we’ve been trying to decide if we should call someone to fix that. This table should not be used…Its a definite hazard. Now for the food. They claim to be a great burger joint unfortunately they don’t know how to cook a burger. All three were cooked like hockey pucks and tasted like a charred mess. The buns were good which is sad to say for $97 lunch and that was with sodas. The bartender sat there hooting and hollering with her two boyfriends not doing her job which made the place even worse. We go out in this area when we bring our daughter back to school and this will never be a stop again.Look elsewhere there are tons of places with good food and atmosphere. This is definitely not one of them.Parking: If you have a compact car parking is fine. If you have a decent size truck the spots are very small

My family just had lunch here. Food and burgers were great but service took forever! I had to speak with the hostess on two separate occasions to have our server come to our table. Make sure you have plenty of time to sit and wait.

D E L I C I O U S ! I was surprised at the size of this place when I walked in! It doesn't look so big from the front of the establishment. I was equally impressed by their eclectic menu filled with your typical American fare and craft beers. I went for the gold fever tenders. They're made with juicy, tender and clearly fresh to order fried chicken tenderloins. In a sweet yet savory honey mustard/bbq sauce. I would totally recommend if you're at a loss for what to order. The service was a bit slow when we went, but the restaurant was loud and busy, so I won't deduct points, as the servers were friendly and gave us everything we needed/asked for. Can't wait to go back and try something new!

It's Saturday night, and every restaurant in the area has a line out the door....except Max's. It should have been our first clue, but we were starving. We walk in, and the place is really nice looking but, kind of dead and very small. We get to the hostest, who points us to a table. As we are walking over, the owner comes running up and says, "Someone said to sit here?! This table is dirty! Go back over there, and I'll get it cleaned." So we wait back by the hostest desk, where the owner is just running her mouth about howawful it was that we were almost sat at a dirty table. Saying the rudest things about her hostest to us...in front of the hostest. Most unprofessional thing I've ever seen.Again, had we not been starving. We would have walked out right then.So the owner seats us and pops back up on her bar stool and ignored us the rest of the night, even when we still didnt have drinks and she was walking back and forth past us for the lottery machine over and over.So maybe 5 to 10 mins later, the same hostest came to take our drink orders. We had enough time with the menu, so put our whole order in at the same time.I heard the salads were good and the clam cakes were great but my burger was WELL DONE and I am a red in the middle kinda gal so that was disappointing. The "handcut" French fries that you have to pay extra for and don't come with your burger. They were flavorless and stuck together like they've been freezer burnt at the bottom of the walk-in.All in all, the staff was ok. I believe if an owner wants to actively belittle her staff while slaming them back, you could have at least offered some kind of customer service. corners were definitely cut in the food area, and the only empty restaurant really made sense at the end.

Been going to Max's for about seven years now we normally order the same thing every time, I know things are getting more expensive, but to charge somebody price the same price as you were getting a half order of Max out takeout fries and then they hand you your hamburger with the side of fries you normally get and give you a little thing of cheese, bacon, hot rings, and wacky another $5.50 is ridiculous. I feel like I got screwed and I've never felt that way coming here. I've always paid a little extra instead of going somewhere else because the food was pretty good but this might change my mind going forward.

Great food, this place's burgers are some of the best around, in my opinion. But what's really kept me impressed is the service. I've had a couple of different waitresses in the couple of times that I've been here, and the service has been excellent each time. Very attentive, joking around with my party, making recommendations if we were unsure what to order. I've worked in retail for years, those kinds of people skills is either something you're born with or you just don't have it. The location is tucked away just enough that it feels like it's Dartmouth's best kept secret. So far, each time I've been here, I've been very impressed.

We got food to go.. buffalo Mac and cheese aka.. dry Mac on a super spicy slab of over cooked meat. The blu bacon burger.. dry as hell no flavor..clam cakes no flavor very dense. fried pickles were soggy as hell the bottom of the container full of grease.. the blooming onion was good, but no sauce. Which is ok cause I made my own.. onion strings were at least tasty.. imo overpriced for something I could of made at home..

I gave this place a second chance, but this place sucks for burgers, you order medium and comes out burn, also very dry burgers, not a fan and not coming back.
