Read the whole review! Typically never leave reviews but I had to on this one. Waited over 20 minutes for simple stuff that could be grabbed in the cases. Cases were basically empty which is wild to me since it’s a BAKERY! No management was around to help employees with other customers or issues they were having. The worst part of it all… THERE WERE ANTS IN MY COFFEE!!! Not one, not two, but THREE ants. I was home when I realized it and decided it was not worth to go back. Tried to call to get a refund for it but no one answered. NEVER. AGAIN.

Sunrise has been a long time favorite, and I was happy to hear it was reopened. I was surprised when I pulled into the lot and it was empty. When I entered the shop, it was slim pickings but since it was 10:45am I figured they had a busy morning and this was what was left. I ordered several pieces of cake and some other pastries. As prior reviewers stated, upon leaving the shop I realized everything I purchased was hard as a rock, and ended up throwing everything away. I had purchased some malasadas for my kids which seemed fresh, but they took one bite and refused to eat them. I tried one and it had a sour, almost chemical taste. Gone are the beautiful cupcakes and delicious fresh baked goods. Very sad but we won't be back.

I, too, was excited to have Sunrise reopen. However, I couldn’t have been more disappointed.They don’t put the lights on which struck me as strange. Weren’t sure they were open. When we ordered., it took forever for them to complete an order. My order finally was completed but we had to wait another 15 minutes for the second order. They don’t allow you to purchase multiple pops at the Dartmouth location… Isn’t this a bakery?!?! You can only have a pop there as a sandwich. Won’t be returning there. Decided to go to the Bolton Street location to pick up a dozen pops yesterday. The pops are yeasty and covered in flour. Gross. Couldn’t serve those. I won’t be giving them any further business.

I have been a regular customer here for years. Why are your staff working without an ac? It's VERY obvious that this place isn't properly air conditioned. Do you have plans to fix this?

I’ve tried visiting this place 2-3 times since reopening under new ownership. Each time was a disappointment & just such a negative experience.
1st time: no ham & cheese croissants. Asked for a red velvet cookie that was 85 cents or $1, received a red velvet cupcake which was over $2 more in price & was charged for it. I had to wait even longer to communicate my complaint to the staff to get a refund & it took even longer because they didn’t know how to operate the register. The employee did not speak English at all so I had to repeat myself several times & it becomes frustrating especially if they still get your order incorrect. Their large is so small (you have to order a Jumbo) & they only have one size of straws.
2nd time: it was like a circus in there. Still lacked some inventory & no croissants still, which baffles me because it’s a bakery & it was 8am!
3rd time: no croissants & no ham & cheese croissant sandwiches. I just left & will not be returning. This place really needs to be managed better otherwise I do not see it being successful whatsoever. It is such a disappointing experience each time because this establishment used to be delicious & the previous workers used to really know how to run & operate the place! Not worth going here considering the experience each time & with so many other amazing places locally.

Super disappointed! Picked up a goodie box of cake slices for me family to sample -lemon, carrot, pistachio, almond. All were extremely dry and stale! Absolutely hard as a rock. I called to ask when the cakes are made fresh because of my experience and was told it’s on demand and some are delivered from the other site si no chance to give them another chance and try them fresh.

Got an egg ond cheese on a bagel. Egg was way smaller then the bagel. Person who took my order was rude. Definitely won't be coming back.
Very friendly. Clean. And a great choice of many when it comes to bakery items. THE PRICE IS RIGHT. COME ON DOWN, YOU ARE THE NEXT CONTESTANT. just a little price is right humor.

One of my favorite bakeries. Been coming here as long as I can remember. Great pasteis da nata, coffee rolls, donuts and linguica rolls. With them potentially changing ownership, I went with a very delicious apple fritter.

This place is so worth the drive. Nice location and friendly helpful staff with an amazing menu variety. Food is flavorful, tasty, fresh and price is just right. Great variety of savory and sweet. Diner atmosphere, enjoy
