Have been here a few times in the evening and finally tried their café offerings. Overpriced, small portions, and pretentious. See my photo of their ‘everything bagel hand pie.’ For $7? I expected something about the size of a bagel and instead got a little pastry with some everything bagel seasoning and cream cheese. The café mocha was served in a paper cup and barely lukewarm. Must’ve used cold milk when he made it?

[Note per owner response: They have a hard time accepting criticism. The $7 ‘hand pie’ was small whether I saw it before buying (I didn’t) or not. And my mocha wasn’t hot enough, even if I’m wrong about the milk temp.]

We went for pastry and coffee. Great pastries! The coffee is also very good. My only beef is that it would be nice to have your latte in a ceramic cup rather than a paper cup.

A cozy, inviting place with an enoteca/tapas bar feel. The portions are a bit bigger than typical tapas places, so don't order too many at once. The oxtail app and focaccia were great. The mixed drinks were well balanced.

Baleine is just wonderful. Cocktails, food, music. Everything. The owners put so much care into what they do. We’re lucky to have them in Dennis.

Tried this place last night for cocktails and dessert and really enjoyed the evening. The space is beautifully designed and comfortable for small groups (we were a party of three). The basque cheesecake was delicious and the chocolate mousse is not to be missed - the little sprinkle of sea salt takes it from great to sublime.

Great place from the people who run the excellent restaurant The Pheasant down the street. Love the concept: wine bar with unusual/innovative cocktails and (even though we didn’t eat) an interesting menu of small bites and desserts. Nicely designed interior with a long bar and small tables, plus some outdoors seating, too. Attentive and knowledgeable bar tenders. We’d definitely come back.

This new wine bar is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you can feel that it’s run by seasoned professionals, Erika and Adam from Pheasant, who know exactly how to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The wine list is thoughtful and adventurous, offering something for everyone. Sundays spotlights reggae music. A must-visit spot that I’ll definitely be returning to often!

Great vibes in the heart of Dennis. The best cocktails and wine selection. Food choices are great for light bites or make a dinner date out of it. We live going there before a show at the cape playhouse

It was ... Fine. Just a bit generic and the prices, particularly for cocktails was a bit high without feeling particularly interesting. Perhaps I'm being harsh given how fantastic the previous establishment was, but the space lacked any kind of whimsy or unique charm. It felt a bit like a cookie cutter wine bar catering to tourists. The clientele definitely felt less interesting than previous.

Great wine list, wonderful cocktails, tasty small plates, excellent vibe, carefully curated music (vinyl), come here after the beach or before or after the theater or cinema or for dessert drinks and desserts or if you just want great drinks and small plates any time. We love this place.

Baleine is an amazing addition to Dennis Village. I have been here for a date night and as part of a group outing (everyone loved it so much that we came by before AND after dinner) and had a great experience each time. They have a wonderful cocktail and wine selection, and I can't wait to come back to try even more of the delicious food menu!
