This place was remarkably bad. If you want to go to a place where the owner treats the customers not just unprofessionally, but with total disrespect and entitlement than this is your place. To be fair they were equal opportunity abusers in how they treated customers - didn’t matter if you were a man, woman or the newly wed couple. Pretty amazing behavior and this place should be shut down

But the real issue is the service - the bartenders were outright disrespectful to the entire group we were with - men, women alike. Then on top of that you have the smug owner who goes back on his word, doesn’t have any sympathy for the issues they created and should probably be barred from the service industry writ large. Please avoid.

An absolutely unbelievable experience. We pulled up for a wedding afterparty (which was booked for months by the bride’s family, as they’re locals to the area and regulars at this establishment). Well, apparently none of that mattered. Maybe 5-10 people were admitted into the bar before the owner, who must literally hate her life, started throwing an absolute tantrum that her bar was about to be busy for probably the first time ever. Mind you…we are all well over 21 years old and not one person was “too drunk” upon arriving.
I took it upon myself, as a restaurant owner and wedding planner, to chat with her before she made an unforgivable mistake. Well, she brought me into their back kitchen, proceeded to tell me she didn’t want to lose her liquor license (is she on the verge of losing it?), and told us she had the right to deny everybody (including the bride and groom) before storming off like an absolute lunatic…Imagine that. I have no words other than, best of luck Diane (if that’s even your name) - it seems like your establishment - and you - could use some serious help. Even your live band and bouncer were beyond disgusted by your behavior.
If you’re considering this bar, think twice. Reliability, professionalism, and basic courtesy toward paying customers were nowhere to be found.

I’d be more inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt if I hadn’t come to this page and seen multiple reviews from people who had a similar experience. I am not local to the area so I’m not sure what health department or regulatory body oversees this establishment, but whoever it is, if you end up reading this, please go make these people fix this place or shut it down entirely before someone gets sick.

I went in and was astonished at the price of a Surfside seltzer at 12 dollars but I still left a 1 dollar tip I then started a tab with a 30 minimum I knew exactly how much I had on my card after three seltzers I went to cash out expecting the bill to be now more then 40 dollars and to my surprise my card was run for 89.88 not once but twice and only refunded once my next bill was 93 dollars for 5 seltzers and one beer when I objected I believe it was the major that came over to tell me my bill included a town alcohol tax of 7 % even so after three seltzers at 12 dollars a piece that does not make someone the manger then came back and told me in a matter of hours my seltzer had gone up to 16 dollars when I asked why I had paid 12 dollars to befen with I was told I don't know my card was then given back because it was declined for a fourth time I was asked to get another card which I did I am beyond disappointed in what sundancers had become and I will never go back and I have lived on Cape almost my whole life I am beyond disappointed and will never recommend sundancers to anyone again

Been coming here for years, always been pretty standard. I always thought the owner behind the bar was pretty nice. This past Saturday myself and 8 other guys in our late 20’s came in to celebrate a bachelor party. None of us were drunk or being rude. I am a bartender myself so i always try to give the benefit of the doubt and this genuinely the first time ive ever left a bad review about a bar. The place was empty at 3/4 pm with two bartenders on, maybe 5-6 people drinking beers at the bar, 1-2 seated tables outside. Ordered a round of beers which was fine but when i went to order shots for the table the older male bartender, with the shaved head and tattoo sleeves got upset for me ordering maybe the most common mixed shot a bar can offer after denying my first request because they dont have the ingredients, i was staring directly at them lol, but im not going to big dog another bartender and tell them how to make a basic shot. When he gave me an attitude for ordering 9 green tea shots, i asked if he had dr. Mcguilicudies mint instead since it’s simpler for him. He replied with “can you just make up your mind, i dont have all day.” My dude, your shift is either just starting or just ending, theres no one in the bar and you have another bartender with you. What do you mean you dont have all day? He wasnt even the one making the shots, the other bartender did. All of this to say i wouldnt be upset normally, im on the side that bartender is almost always right, i love a good dive, and myself have been known to respond to customers in kind if they are being less than friendly. However they charged me 14$ a shot for some small, weaker than average green tea shots, made with well irish whiskey and probably finest call sour mix. When i asked for an itemized receipt the male bartender wouldnt give me one. So i did quick mental math and asked if 14$ a shot was right and he just said “yep.” Honestly i can appreciate getting taken advantage of at a spot right on the water but the fact that i couldnt even get an itemized receipt really left me feeling like i was being ripped off, especially when my buddy’s long island was 15$ for more booze. Still left 20$ as a cash tip out of courtesy but it left a bad enough taste in my mouth to write this days later. We got up and walked across the boardwalk to the shanty next door, where actual cocktails were the same price as our shots. Had a much better experience there. As for Sundancers, im pretty bummed our old faithful has really fallen off. Would go back for a beer in a pinch, but id definitely walk out if i had to order from that bartender.

We've been coming to this place for 20 years, but sadly, this visit will be our last. We stopped in on a Friday afternoon — the place was nearly empty — and were told we couldn't sit at a high-top table with our two preteens which was not in the immediate bar area. We also had sat at these tables previously. The bartender approached us and was extremely rude about it, and even the waitress seemed embarrassed by the situation. After two decades of loyalty, we left feeling disappointed and disrespected. We won’t be returning. Dennis could use more options for preteen gatherings or events in general.
