We recently hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Marshside for our son and now daughter in law and everything was outstanding! We had dropped off decor in advance to be set up and when we arrived the tables looked beautiful. We had two servers that were dedicated to our group of 41 and they were so attentive and made the entire evening run seamless. The appetizers were delicious and the presentation was just lovely. Everyone raved about their starter of the seasonal soup or the caesar salad. The entrees arrived and the food was piping hot and the portions were huge. It was truly an amazing dinner and the apple crisp or the flourless chocolate torte were the perfect ending to an amazing meal to celebrate the start of the wedding weekend!! Thank you again to The Marshside!!

This very large restaurant is very popular among both tourists and locals, but I'm not exactly sure why because it is it is often crowded and rather long waits are required since they do not accept reservations for less than six. And at times the large parking lot is filled and you must park along the street. Having learned our lesson from a prior attempt, we went very early. There was a wait, however, because the rather unsociable hostess was taking large party reservations and ignoring us without appology during or afterwards. Once seated, service was acceptable and the waitress friendly but not as attentive as I would have like. Getting a takeout container was, for example, an ordeal solved by a helpful staff doing the clearing.
If you sit at an inside table on the lower level, and a group is at the table just above you on the main level, it feels as if they have joined you as they are close enough so that even whispers can be heard and. if they are loud, it is unpleasant. The food is fine, but unexceptional for the price. There is for non-vegetarians a wide selection on the menu from posh to bar food. There is also a long bar with four large television screens which, while fine for those at the bar, detracts from the already diminished ambiance the place has. But, again, it is very well liked by very many people, so perhaps I am just missing a certain charm which, for me, was non-existent.

Twice a year 8 of us have a long weekend on the cape. This is our first choice for both lunch and dinner. This year it was lunch and again it was perfect.

I'll just say this—a member of my party ordered 3 oysters but received 6. When she mentioned it to our server a few minutes later, he scooped 3 of them up with a fork and took them back. You draw your own conclusions on what he did with them.

Pretty good experience, great menu selection, with something for everyone. Had great service for a Tuesday night after labor day on the cape. Will definitely go back. 👍.

Wonderful meal everyone enjoyed their food! Good drinks, wine, and beer. Our server and the service was abysmal. I am a restaurant manager myself and I am very understanding when it comes to service failures. There was no excuse the server was curt from the beginning and neglected our table. Such a shame because we had a great experience otherwise. The apple crisp was lackluster as well.

I have been meaning to try Marshide for awhile and decided to stop in last night — so glad I did!!! I ordered the Chicken Francese and it was delicious. Service was great and the view of the marsh out the window at sunset was amazing! Will definitely be back soon!

Wow!
I just got back from an early dinner at The Marshide with my wife, and it was wonderful!
The building is very nice; modern yes, but very tastefully done, with excellent views of the natural beauty of the salt marsh thanks to many large (and spotlessly clean) windows.
The service was very good too, so I was happy about that as well.
It was the wonderful food that put thus experience over the edge into wonderful..land.
I ordered the baked haddock, and my wife got the mushroom ravioli. My haddock was very fresh and delightful, and set in a sauce that complemented but did not overpower the delicate deliciousness.
My wife’s ravioli dish (I had a sample) was also incredible. I realize that mushroom ravioli sounds flavorless, but it was truly incredible! The mushrooms were very flavorful; and again, the sauce for that dish was the perfect complement, it even had pistachios…it all worked perfectly together!
This place is expensive, and gets busy with a wait to eat at primetime, but it is worth it all.
The setting is beautiful, and the chef is an artist. I highly recommend this place.
Hint: Go during off peak hours..i.e. very early supper.
