50Kitchen has the best cornbread! I look forward to their next chapter.

I am new to the city and just moved to Dorchester. I'm DEVASTATED that they are closing!!!!!! The food was so good. There wasn't anything on the menu, brunch or dinner, that I didn't enjoy. I hope they find another location or get a food truck!!! If you haven't tried it, you have until Feb 12 to do so!!! I've have chicken and waffle, fish and grits, corn bread, kimchi collards. I've been to N.O. quite a few times and the PO boy here is HITTING. Wish I had gone more since moving here.

One of a kind soul food stop. Charming, delicious, and definitely full of soul. Highly recommend the chicken & waffles and corn bread!

Don't ever go into Dorchester without stopping here for some fiyaaaa. Chef 50 ain't jokin bout his skills in the kitchen. I stepped in there with fresh white air forces and watched him whip up multiple dishes without spilling even a drip of grits on my shoes. I trust this man with my life let alone my plate. Tap in. Thank me later, follow me now! (Visit www.stayeatinbruh.com for more!)

Went in for Sunday brunch. Food is super tasty and service is great! One suggestion - add option of coffee and side of eggs, bacon (a few breakfast options) for brunch. It would be great if those were added to menu. Otherwise, you might as well call it lunch.

It will be bad to keep this alone to myself I came across the best binary expect ever Mrs Trey Loudis who really help me to invest, she is very honest and diligent in her work. All I did was invest $500 and within 7 days she made $6,548 profit for me. Contact her via

The cornbread is out of this world tasty. Ribs fall off the bone. Love this restaurant.

This place is amazing! Delish Shrimp PoBoy, perfect sweet potato fries and creamy, savory mashed cauliflower.Awesome friendly service too!

Had a stellar lunch here before the Van Gogh show. Setting is extremely casual, small with six or eight tables. Food was excellent, freshly cooked and well-handled. We had the Ribs, the Fried Honey Cornbread -which is so good it should be a crime- and the Shrimp and Grits which was rich, hearty and complex. Service was sparkling, attentive and efficient. Don't miss this place!

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit, the meal as well as the service; liked that you could order off the brunch or regular menu and that you could get some of the items as an appetizer or entree (just get the entree as you will wish you did), as others have said the cornbread is life.

I won't repeat what everyone else has already nailed but I do want to add: 50Kitchen is fantastic! The food, service, price, even atmosphere (on busy Dot Ave.) is wonderful. Can't stop talking about how great our evening was. Special kudos to our super friendly, helpful waitress. She helped us focus our menu choices; we could have ordered anything on the menu and been happy. Hands down the best restaurant we've been to in ages. Perfect combination of delicious, creative, down-to-earth food w/o being pretentious. We had the honey fried cornbread, bang bang cauliflower, jambalaya egg rolls, shrimp & grits, and chicken with waffles. Each one was tastier than the next. We sat outside and enjoyed the mix of quiet coziness (there's a nice fence that visually separates diners from the street), the occasional hip hop blasting from a car radio, and the people watching on the sidewalk -- All good. Thank you, 50Kitchen - hubby and I had a perfect date night and a wonderful dinner.

My partner took me here for brunch on my birthday on 9/24. Food is amazing! She and I were absolutely amazed by the food and service. I had chicken and waffles and she ordered the shrimp and grits. Both were delicious and made to perfection. We also ordered the honey fried cornbread. We have not been able to stop dreaming about it. It's that good. The only thing I personally did not care for was the rosemary infused syrup that is served with the chicken and waffles. I suggest having regular syrup as another option. We can't wait to come back!

We have been wanting to try this place for some time now. Finally had an opportunity to stop in. And, we were not disappointed. The St Louis ribs were amazing with the bourbon bbq sauce. Wow! The sweet corn bread with honey made my mouth smile. Originally we were planning to be in New Orleans this week, but our trip was canceled. So, getting to eat an amazing Po-boy right here in Boston made this the perfect meal. Thank you to the very friendly staff for serving us this delicious meal!

The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. I had the honey fried cornbread as an app for the table and shrimp and grits, my friend had the 50K sandwich and he loved it. I highly recommend giving them a try, all orders are prepared real time so please don't be in a rush - quality is worth the short wait.

What an excellent lunch with great service. And a visit from the chef/owner is always a plus. Ordered several starters. The bang bang cauliflower was ordered twice because it was so good. Burbon wings and egg roll also top notch. We had a chicken and waffles, sliders and Asian chop salad. The chicken batter was light and airy with the syrup and homemade butter. Wow. Will definitely go again...food made with love.
