Nice place, some good spirits. Wish they did offer full tastings rather than just flights to better try their whole range
Boston Harbor Distillery in Dorchester is absolutely worth a visit! The staff are friendly and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Their cocktails are fantastic—balanced, creative, and perfect for any occasion.
The tours are excellent too, offering a fun and informative behind-the-scenes look at how their spirits are made. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Boston, this distillery is a top-notch experience.
Highly recommend!
I can't remember my name
This review is mostly for Jeff, the event planner. He was extremely kind to my guests and I through the entirety of our wedding planning. He immediately answered every teeny, tiny question that popped into my head. He was very flexible with his schedule which was helpful since we lived far and had a constrained timeline.
The venue itself is a natural beauty. It was an easy place for us to choose as our wedding venue. The drinks itself were incredible. Our guests had a wide range to choose from. Definitely consider BHD for any event!
As soon as you take a few steps into the distillery, close your eyes for a moment. Breathe in the warm scent of wood, layered with the rich aroma of fine whiskey and a hint of Atlantic breeze. Trust us—this is just the beginning.
This place is a genius loci on the Boston map, where history mingles with ocean and the unmistakable energy of Rhonda Kallman, the founder. Every sip, every detail of the space, reflects her passion and vision.
Our signature selections:
* American Single Malt
* Maple Cream
* Old Fashioned on Demon Seed
Switch off the time, step outside between tastings and take in the breathtaking view of Boston by day and by night :)
Just one visit—and one conversation with Rhonda will leave you with stories you’ll want to share again and again.
Absolutely amazing experience! 10/10 recommend both the Putnam and Lawley series. The pear was fantastic and so was the single malt. Wonderful time and time well spent on our vacation from PA!
Our group had a fantastic experience at Boston Harbor Distillery. To start, they let us join the tour we’d signed up for even though we were more than 15 minutes late due to traffic. When the tour wrapped up, our guide Jeff took the four of us back to the start to show us what we’d missed. They would have been completely justified in not doing so, as it was our own fault we were late, so we really appreciated it. Jeff was knowledgeable and friendly, and we really enjoyed the tasting. The whiskey was the standout (as expected) but the liqueurs and premixed cocktails were very nice as well.
After the tour, we spent some time in the bar area. We tried the maple walnut old fashioned, Bos-hattan, and a spicy espresso martini, all of which were delicious. In the merch area, we chatted with Rhonda, the founder for a while. Despite it being a busy Saturday, she spoke with us about her background, what it’s like running the distillery, and answered all of our questions. In short, she’s a complete badass.
Additional highlights: easy parking, cool industrial space, dog friendly (on the day we visited, there was a fundraiser for a dog running for honorary mayor of dorchester, which was an unexpected delight), and live music at certain times. I would highly recommend and we will certainly be back.
such a great experience! tried so many different liquors and learned lots of great history. recommended for everyone whether you know much about liquor or not

Great whiskys and cocktails in a beautifully restored old mill building on the waterfront. It's also a great place to see a band. They have a long lineup of shows coming up, so go support your local distillery.
Was just forced to use a sscan to order at the airport location. No personal interaction. Just why? Your hurting your workers as I will tip less because their is little to no interaction. Awful concept. If some want to use it fine, but you shouldn't force it
Had the best time at the tour today!! There were so many options to taste and they were really great. Our guide, Jenna, did an awesome job explaining the history & making it fun overall! Would definitely recommend to others!! It would be especially fun for a group of friends!!
The hosted a function, my first time here. Fascinating story about this place. I enjoyed a flight of espresso martini ... Fabulous.
The distillery tour was fabulous. Our tour guide Jenna did an excellent job and was very informative on the distilling process and the local history. You get to taste about 20+ spirits or pre-made cocktails in a cool old industrial building on the far south Boston waterfront. But you definitely can't drive to the tour cause you will not be legal when the tour ends!
