Visiting the Lobster Shanty was honestly underwhelming. Based on what I had read and heard beforehand, I expected something far more impressive or impactful. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype.
While it’s interesting from a historical and conceptual standpoint, there wasn’t much there to really engage or wow visitors. The presentation felt minimal, and without stronger context or interactive elements, it was hard to fully appreciate its significance.
It’s not terrible by any means, but it’s also not somewhere I’d go out of my way to eat at.

First time here. Great chowder, lobster rolls, fish - chips,... the whole belly fried clams were excellent - and I'm picky. Willl rate it a 5 after I happily work my way through the menu.

Visited this restaurant in October, off the season. Have no idea if it is open year around. There was no hostess, and we were served by the guy who was behind the counter. The room with the bar was full, so we had to stay in the left side of the building, and had the menu with only soft drinks, no alcohol. The prices are high, because of sea food. The place itself is very old, and has some maritime related decor. There was plenty of parking outside.

We had a great dinner here. I odered the all you can eat fish and chips. I had the haddock was delicious and plentiful. Wife ordered Chicken nuggets, and they were great too. Both came with fries and coleslaw. We ordered the onion rings for appetizer, and they were excellent. Love the atmosphere. We went on Tuesday night, so it was easy to get a seat.

Steamers were Not Edible, they weren’t cooked, “Grilled Shrimp”… Not Grilled or cooked fully through , could not eat. Lobster rolls were undercooked as well. Told waiter and his response was I keep telling them in the kitchen and they keep screwing me up out here. No discount nothing taken off of the bill. He just blamed the cooks.

We had the 'all you can eat' fish and chips. Very good, the oil was obviously clean. There was enough fish served that we had no room for seconds so the all you can eat was a moot point for us. The atmosphere was quiet and comfortable (background music enjoy and subdued). We plan on going back for the lobster roll. Jeff Craig

The clamp chowder was exceptional. The sign said best lobster roll, not sure who's comments say that but it's not. Roll is small about 4 inches long, not that good.
Best spot on the cape!!! Can’t believe how delicious the lobster was for such an affordable price. Milton is FANTASTIC, as is the entire crew. We will Be back next year!!

This place is absolutely horrible. Everyone in my group got sick. The service, food, atmosphere etc terrible. When we complained the manager only took one thing off the menu. We ordered basic things, lobster bisc, burger, fish sandwich, and hot dog. Absolutely terrible, do not go!
