I should say this is a great place to get seafood, but little over budget. Lobster roll is really nice, I love the raw bar as well, oysters are nice! The fried calamari tastes great with ketchup. I don’t like the clam chowder there, it’s not creamy at all. But poke bowl with salmon tastes great! We seat outdoor to eat.

Our first night in town, stopped here for an assortment of fried clams. The fried clams by the time we arrived back our rental 3 minutes away already had grease soaked through the container and was leaking out of the bag. Placing the container on the table allowed the oil to pool on the table. The large order of clam strip yielded about 6 to 8 pieces 2 inches or larger. The rest were about 1/2” pieces with a heavy taste of burnt oil. The whole belly were about the same, all were slightly larger than a quarter. The bill was $220.00 and two full boxes (half our order) was thrown out as they were an inedible crumbling mess of burnt tasting cooking oil. Absolutely nothing in this order tasted like a fried clam we craved during our 8 hour ride here.
We chose the place because of the high reviews, but our order was nothing like we expected or paid for. Do yourself a favor and don’t even try this place or waste your money on this poorly cooked seafood.

Food pickup was interesting too. We called the order in, traveled the 3 minutes and arrived while it was still being cooked as we could see the chef. We waited in line inside and when I asked for the order, the woman stated you need to go outside to the window. Nobody was outside in line, the window was closed and we were 6 feet away from the woman working the window with our food right in front of us. So we walked outside, asked for our food and the woman picked up the bag that was six feet in front of us when we were inside and handed it to us. I could see if the place was busy and we needed to wait our turn in line, but there was no line…

Ordered the special and a salad and a cup of soup . We were the only people there. 5 other couples after us were served when eventually my husbands salad showed up and plopped my lobster bisque in front of me which was disgusting, mostly heavy cream, and stated my order is still being made. Mind you this was the special. After watching my husband eat, I got a refund for my order since it still wasn’t ready until I asked for a refund. We have been going for years, but this was the last time. Also my husbands Cobb salad with scallops which he said were awful and looked like punches and not scallops.

Sorry 22% tip wasn’t enough to avoid the worst meals We ate this vacation and the LAST time we will subject ourselves to that culinary disaster, when we found the manager was the person taking our order we decided Mac’s of Eastham was on the list .9/12/25

The recent price hikes are insane. A salad with a 6oz side of scallops went from $29 to $34. This is yummy, casual porchside food at fine dining prices. I feel priced out and just buy scallops direct from the many awesome producers in the area and sear them at home.

The food at this version of Mack’s is fine, no complaints. But I would also I say it’s not anything special. I had decent fish tacos and nice but undistinguished clam chowder. Others had pleasant sandwiches or rolls.

Food was fine but not worth returning to. I got got by the name and thought the reputation would carry through all locations I was wrong.

I loved this place! It was delicious and so comforting to go to a seafood restaurant where everything on the menu was celiac safe. I tried the fried shrimp and scallops, the fish tacos, and the clam chowder. The tacos were my favorite, but the fried seafood and fries were also good

If you're anywhere near Eastham and are looking for quality fresh fish from a friendly knowledgeable staff, Mac's is where you want to go! We have been shopping here for several years and have never been disappointed. We've purchased chowder (maybe the best I've ever tasted), cod, lobster, swordfish, dozens of raw oysters, clams and all tasted like it must have come out of the water that morning. They also have a menu of prepared food you can enjoy at picnic tables in the shade next to their building. We have been spending at least two weeks on The Cape for the last 18 years and Mac's has become one of the highlights of our annual visit. Highly recommend!!
