Service has gone downhill and prices sharply up in the last year. We live in Eastham and have been customers for over 30 years. Calling ahead for sandwiches always meant picking them on arrival. We called an hour ahead to place a sandwich order and received a text that it was ready and to "head in to the cashier for pickup and payment". When we arrived, the line was more than 20 people deep. We went directly to the cashier station, which was manned by the owner. He was exceptionally rude and nasty, saying loudly, that "nobody gets special treatment on Labor Day", and to "get to the end of the line". In the time he spent arguing with us, he could have checked out our $55 purchase. They have lost us as faithful customers.Mary Lou and Craig T

Bottom line: There are always 8-10 employees working at Sam's and I will guarantee you, not one of those people will step up to assist you for as long as you are standing there. They don't give a rat's ass about any customer who actually visits the store. What they care about is preparing food for restaurants and anyone else other than the customers who actually visit the deli. In any other place other than Eastham, where edible food is barely available, they would be out of business in a week. Do yourself a favor, find another nearby town to get something to eat. It's really that bad.

Love the sandwiches at Sam's-perfect to share or make 2 meals from. Their selections are creative and tasty and you can always Build Your Own. Other items we've gotten have also been fresh and tasty.

Sam's has gone down hill fast in past year or two. The only thing you can count on is the breads/pastries coming in late, staff ignoring the counter in favor of sandwich making for walkins and incredibly high prices. Incredibly high. And that stupid tip machine at checkout. Pay peeps or recommend folks Drive to Orleans

Pleasantly surprised when I entered this delicatessen. It smelled wonderful. The sandwiches we purchased were hearty and delicious. It was wonderful to see prepared food for those who want to grab and go .This place had it down to a science . As for service, they were organized, and we received our sandwiches in a reasonable amount of time. I will definitely return.

Their sandwiches are so good. Best on cape. Order ahead, so they are ready when you get there.

Been coming here with my family since I was a small kid!!!It's onto gotten busier over the years. We always order/grab our sandwiches and bring them to the beach.Got a Nauset light sandwich, a Reuben, and a turkey club... & a bag of chips and 2 drinks. We ordered and there was quite a frenzy... (granted it is a Saturday here at the cape ... but it is 1/4 before 3:00pm now). There was a line down the shop and around the coffee area but they had a bunch of people working. 10-15 mins later (exactly as predicted) our sandwiches were ready. Nabbed 'em and on our way down to the beach! Thank you again :) you're a staple part of our Cape-escapes!

Great sandwiches. They are definitely substantial, I usually have to split it into two meals. The kids working there do a great job. It's pretty busy in there in the summer so I suggest ordering ahead for pickup.

Best kept secret , holy mother of pearls this is where you come for the best sandwiches, scones, muffins and more!!!Wow so good , you got to be patient seriously busy at peek time worth the wait !! Not cheap , but I drove 30 mins just to have my breakfast here.

Good sandwiches. However, you cannot order sandwiches after 3 P.M. July/August are the busiest times for businesses on the Cape. People love to order sandwiches after a day at the beach. Not a good way to do business!

Very limited supply. Keep driving to the next liquor store.

My wife and I stopped in to pick up lunch for a picnic. There was a great selection of meats and cheese for sandwiches and great sides as well.

I went to Sam's for both breakfast and lunch the 3 days on the cape for the 4th of July. The self service ice coffee is great and breakfast sandwiches are hot and fresh as well as the fresh bakery items. The sandwiches are killer too I couldn't go wrong with a beach sandwich for the cooler. Add extra stars for getting condiments packed on the side. Since the sandwich would get soggy in the cooler. But it was still fresh after a few hours. Friendly staff and even though their are lines the ordering went smoothly.

Usually their sandwiches are fine. Made the mistake of getting a pre made breakfast sandwich. NOT good. Went back next day to tell them. Should have saved my time and energy.

Really nice and organized place. What prompted me to write this review is that I had a sandwich with avocado in place of bacon because I’m a vegetarian. Not only did they charge me for the bacon but added a charge for the avocado as well. My husband very generously tipped 15% for a takeout order. We like to support businesses especially these days but don’t appreciate being nicked and dimed. So there you have it. A nice place but maybe some food for thought.
