Ate here twice in September during our stay. The restaurant closes after the 3rd week of September so we ate there just before they closed for the season. The lobster roll was fantastic, which I ate on the first night. Again, the lobster was delicious when I asked that it be placed on top of a salad. The lobster was fresh and delicious. My wife had the clams and loved them as well. If we return to this area, we would definitely eat here again. It didn't matter to me, but this was not a sit down dinner as you place your order and they contact you to approach the counter to get your food.

Great place to eat! Great prices. Stopped by for lunch and really enjoyed the seafood cakes. Friendly people.

The place is no more than a shack, with picnic tables under a covered portion, and other tables in the back yard. It's a BYOB. The food is pretty good, and the prices are on par to similar joints. I found the overall food quality good, and I did not experience the problems mentioned by other customers. I will be back.

Whole belly clams were missing their bellies, as well as being over cooked. Fried cod was fried and I think refried to make sure it was dry enough. Pricing was for a 5 star white linen restaurant, but what you get is a cafeteria atmosphere with picnic tables outside on a stone cover yard, bathrooms are porto potties.

I've been coming to the Cape for over 50 years. Several years ago a few young men from the Friendly Fisherman fish market came all the way out to my school on CT to present on marine life. It was a great experience. Given I stayed in the Eastham area this year I decided to give the Friendly Fisherman a visit. I ordered 7 lobsters steamed and cracked. Given the price of $16.99 a pound, I certainly expected hard shell lobsters. We had only 2 of the 7 hard shell. Needless to say I will continue to frequent Cape Tip on Route 6 in Truro where I've never, ever been disappointed, and have only been sold quality with no misrepresentation.

Friendly Fisherman is the only place we go out to eat on the Cape. The fried clams are the best! Went there yesterday and the onion rings were fried to perfection. The seating out back is great and there is a play set for children. Great Cape Cod atmosphere.

This is by far my favorite place to eat on the cape. The portions are amazing, prices are reasonable and the service is fast! The lobster roll is perfection in my opinion, lots of lobster, a bit of mayo and a toasted hot dog bun with a nice layer of lettuce in between. The fried items are amazing as well, its a thin breading (as opposed to the usual greasy thick breading on other fried seafood items). The clam strips and fried fish are delectable! I even love their coleslaw... I put it on the same level as Cane's coleslaw which is my all time fave. Friendly fisherman is a must for me on every cape cod trip :)

Went there based on reviews and will now try Arnolds that so many reviews said NOT to! Lobster roll- they only make a cold one and not hot, and wasn't tasty at all. Bun not toasted enough. Onion rings were actually okay and the random fried clam strip mixed in was ok. When I asked where the restroom was, a staff member pointed to the port-a-potty! I asked, "Where can I wash my hands?", and she handed us each a wet nap that ripped when we opened it. One and done.

Great food. Relax clam shack vibe. Casual quality. Nice people work there. Very good lobster rolls.

I've always loved PJ's and thought it was the best lobster roll on the cape. Pj's is still great- but this might be better. So much delicious lobster and just a light touch of mayo. Highly recommend. I also tried the clam chowder and it wasn't as good as macs eastham across the street.

Food was great. scallops great, chowder great, lobster rolls average. I only gave it 4 stars though because it was 2.99 for a fountain soda and no refills. That was super nutty. The playground and ambience are super cute. Nice place to eat overall. Give people refills for goodness sakes.

3.5 stars. I rounded up. Wanted to go for seafood but didn't want Arnold's. Stepson is on a mission for the best lobster roll on the Cape and gave it a thumbs up "as good as Cook's." The fish and chips was great. The clam strips not as good as Cook's. Calamari was good but the ample tentacles had an odd flavor. I heard the clam chowder was good. The outdoor seating area was nice. BYOB saves money. All in all at least as good as Arnold's although the oysters at Arnold's are great (best shucker on the Cape.) But not great.

We had excellent lobster rolls. Lots of claws meat! Worth the price. I definitely recommend the FF!

The lobster roll here is great. There is plenty of lobster meat which is fresh and flavorful. The sides can be fries, chips, or coleslaw. They have indoor and outdoor seatings. The only down side is that the bathrooms here are the portable ones and there's no sink to wash hands.
