Nice location. Celebrate anniversary. Food was mixed bag but did not feel they were good value for the price paid. Service was slow and disruptive but helpful. So many options in Edgartown for the price and not worth the view.
This review is for folks bringing kids to this restaurant. They will not do anything special for your kids that they wouldn’t also do for an adult, but the waiter did check with me to understand the pace I was hoping for. This alone earned the restaurant a high grade. Most folks with kids (I think) prefer a faster pace. This is what I requested and what I got. We had our drinks, our meal and desert served and were on our way in about one hour which was perfect. Most tables looked like they would typically run 2-2.5 hours here. When I bring kids to a fine restaurant like this, I always book early times as I believe this is better for parents, kids and restaurant. That worked out here as expected. Food was excellent; this is indeed a fine restaurant with great food, well prepared and top quality ingredients. I had the scallops and my 9 year old had the burger. Everything was perfect. We liked the decor and ambience; not too loud, and a bright and airy space which my 9 year old and I prefer over darker and noisier establishments. The price is high, but I don’t think unreasonable for this quality in a resort area. Only thing that could’ve been better would be 1 or 2 other kid friendly menu choices.
Bartender and environment were great. Menu options and price seemed available. The biggest let down was when the male manager started pushing bar patrons out to enable his friends to come in for the late night menu. That was just an embarrassment to the entire hospitality business. No one was abusing the seats by any means but yet he forced the bartenders to ignore patrons to force early cash outs. Must be nice to know that balding manager. Cheers
Went for dinner and did the prefix dinner with wine pairing. Great food and wine. The cod was fantastic. My only complaint would be our waiter was more interested in talking to people at the bar than serving us. Service was not great especially for a night when it’s off season and not busy.
Nice restaurant, but extremely expensive for what you get, not a good price-performance ratio

This is a gorgeous place with amazing food and wonderful staff. We stayed here and ate like Kings and Queens. Best value for money on the island.

Beautiful restaurant and with a name like Alchemy how could the drinks not be good? Well, they weren’t. My Blood and Smoke was excellent, but we also had two old fashioneds, and both were bitter, and one of them was a special barrel aged (more expensive) version. I would think that if a cocktail was over $20, you would get clear ice, but we are spoiled from good craft cocktail bars. The apple pie dessert was good. If you go for dinner, I’m guessing you will do OK. In my limited experience, I would not go for craft cocktails.

Compliments to the chef for sure. The food was very flavorful. Our only mistake was not making reservations but Alchemy is a must visit.
Excellent
Lovely venue. Four of us enjoyed our meals but did not feel they were good value for the price paid. Service was slow but always cheerful and helpful. You can do better in Edgartown for the price.

Absolutely delicious, the entire staff was kind with a very clean and cool atmosphere. Halibut was cooked to perfection and torte had the perfect balance of chocolate. We hope to be back again! Thank you alchemy for a lovely family dinner.

Ate here recently. Great food, very nice building inside/outside. Easily reached by walking. It’s in a very nice section of town. Delicious food.
Kid-friendliness: Came here with kids, everything still went great.

Nice atmosphere. But only 1 restroom on each floor for a total of 2 restrooms. Some tables have full view of the restroom (!). Food was bland. Ordered crab and asparagus salad, couldn't really see any among a large bed of lettuce. Slow service.

Two members of the party had eaten at the restaurant serval times last summer and enjoyed it. That was not the case this time. Our cocktails and food were very slow to arrive, and as soon as we got home, one of my friends started experiencing stomach cramps and had diarrhea. Not a pleasant evening.

My best friend has a summer home in OB and I visit for her birthday week every year, this being the 7th year. We always have dinner at Alchemy one of the nights I visit because we are such big fans.. we love the food, vibe & service. This year I ordered a hot & dirty martini which wasn’t on the cocktail menu and apparently isn’t a standard off-menu order. The bartender created his own hot & dirty - which was one of the best I’ve had - and delivered it directly to our table, which was awesome. Yes, I ordered a second. We’ll be back next year ☺️
