We absolutely love the Winnetu resort. The Dunes is honestly hit or miss. The food does not meet the level of expectations for the location in my opinion. The bar service was always great while we were there. We prefer the poolside lunch menu to their sit down restaurant.
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly resort. Play area in the main dining room was nicely updated this year.

Excellent dinner. Beautiful atmosphere Our waiter was more than accommodating. Had the most delicious swordfish dish I would definitely recommend the Dunes to anyone staying on Martha's Vineyard.
Relatively small menu, however all the items were fantastic. Our table ate most every dish. Of note, the lobster taco appetizers were phenomenal. Main course halibut, chicken, mushroom risotto, and special of the day swordfish were all very good. Cocktails before dinner were served promptly and well, wine list served up some nice pairing choices. Service was informed and attentive.
We had a lovely dinner tonight. Service by Shane was outstanding. He was very attentive and made great food suggestions. Everything was fresh and nicely presented. Mini tacos were great. The steak was cut and served with mini potatoes, mushrooms and a terrific sauce. Dessert pudding was really good. The outdoor space is lovely and is equipped with heaters and blankets. Highly recommend.
A Marvelous Dining Experience at The Dunes, Martha's Vineyard My recent visit to The Dunes at Winnetu Restaurant in Martha's Vineyard left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that exuded elegance and charm. The ambiance at The Dunes was simply great. The restaurant's décor and layout create an inviting and sophisticated setting, perfect for a memorable dining experience. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening or a special celebration, this restaurant sets the stage beautifully. What truly elevated my dining experience, however, was the impeccable service provided by our waiter. They were not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations and answering any questions we had with a genuine enthusiasm that added to our enjoyment. Their attention to detail and commitment to ensuring our evening was special did not go unnoticed. In summary, The Dunes at Winnetu Restaurant in Martha's Vineyard is a culinary gem that combines a great and elegant atmosphere with exceptional service. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience that will leave you with lasting memories. I can't recommend it enough, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
Excellent ambiance and service, I ordered the Salmon and OMG perfectly seared and seasoned. My husband did not care for his burger, but he also loved my Salmon dish. He is super picky, so take his burger dislike with a grain of salt, no pun intended...service was phenomenal and ambiance top notch..5 stars
A lovely setting and the food was enjoyable. We made an early reservation hoping to secure a table outside for sunset but all were taken. The restaurant should consider allowing guests to make outdoor seating reservations with a short grace period.
Team mwork back and front great

We went to the Dunes as a birthday party of 3, with high expectations, considering how pricy the food is and how nice the location and the actual restaurant is.We waited 15 minutes to be seated, everyone was busy, which happens sometimes . As soon as we sat down, I noticed my fork had dry food on it. Our glasses were filled with water once after we sat down and that was it, never got a refill even though I drank 2 out of the 3 cups at the table and they were just sitting there empty. When the server brought the bread out, the wire basket that it came in had butter and some dead rosemary all over the base of it, it was quite disgusting at this point. I pointed this and the fork out to the server, got them replaced and the new basket still had dry food stuck to it. For the love of god, please clean those baskets, they are disgusting !!!!!When I picked my entree out, a daily mix of seafood, I was just informed that they’re out of it, so I just skipped mine since the other 5 options didn’t seem great. While I was the last one still eating appetizers, and our table was not cleared yet, they just brought out the entrees and shoved them on our full table and then proceeded to actually clear the table. That’s something I would maybe expect at an IHOP, not at an “upscale” restaurant. The food looked pretty good on the plate and that’s about it. I tasted 4 appetizers and 2 entrees. It lacked flavor and the taste was just super underwhelming for what you would expect from an “upscale” restaurant. The mushroom ragu was one of the worst pasta dishes I ever tasted to be honest, seems like the total amount of effort put into it comes out at a grand total of 0.Overall our experience was awful and I wish we just stood up and left after the first 3 red flags that happened in the span of 20 minutes. Some of the staff here lack the bare minimum training, and they have no idea what and how they are supposed to do. It’s a joke how a place like this can run this way. 250$ down the drain.

Phenomenal food and outstanding service! The restaurant is family friendly and even offers a kids corner, where my daughter played while I sat with the rest of my family and I picked up my daughter when her food was ready. It was fantastic! Usually, I have to entertain my four year old and distract her, so she doesn’t disturb anyone. We ended up returning to the restaurant a few more times during our stay.

It was so loud we couldn't hear each other, in a party of six. It was a 6pm reservation so earlier side but there were kids everywhere from each table running around. Food was lacking refined flavor for this price point. Best dish was the roasted oysters. Our server was lovely and did her best to communicate through the loud and overwhelming setting.
The Dunes is a beautiful restaurant with great views, but the food was just so-so. The Halibut wasn't seasoned and the burger is a little tough - not juicy. And the food is WAAAAY overpriced for what you get - even counting the Martha's Vineyard bump.
