Great food and warm atmosphere.
Let me start with 3 stars is average. Our servers were nice. We went for breakfast. Food was good (egg sandwich and side of sausage gravy). I would go there again definitely.
Post note 5 stars requires free beer lol!
We were in the area on 7/26/25 stopped in for a quick lunch. We ordered simple BLT sandwiches. One with mayo and one without. Pretty simple. After 35 minutes our sandwiches were brought to us my sandwich without mayo came with burnt toast so I sent it back. They brought it out again about 10 minutes later with mayo slathered all over it. I sent it back again. After thinking about it we up and left cause I was sure the cook would spit on my sandwich. We will never return to this terrible place.
I had the Chicken and broccoli Alfredo. It was a large portion. Food was delicious. My waitresses kept in good communication with me.
Food was terrible king crab legs were overcooked ordered mashed potatoes with it and they need to use leftover baked potato and it was disgusting it was a off white with brown and prime rib tasted a couple days old it was reheated in a microwave it was the worst prime rib I ever had king crab legs what's the worst I ever had good luck to anybody who eats here
Excellent food, reasonable prices, friendly servers!! Thecwhole package!!
The food and service were fantastic.
My son and I got there 15 minutes before they were closing after lunch but they stayed open. Glad they did because we had some awesome food, a Frank's Omelet and a French King Omelet. Both were delicious and very filling. Highly recommend!
We stopped into French King Restaurant for a quick lunch on our way to the Berkshires and it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. It's a cozy, welcoming spot with really great food. Best grilled cheese of my life. Would definitely stop by again.
A favorite of my boyfriend and mine. Clean, friendly, I like it.

This family owned gem is the perfect spot for planning a gathering! They were there to accommodate us outside of regular business hours for both happy and sorrowful times. We celebrated my parents 60th Wedding anniversary 6 years ago, and most recently a gathering after my mom’s passing. Helping us to plan for a “ballpark” guest list was easy, as they knew just how to handle that! The food was good and plentiful, and having a cash bar open was appreciated by many. This community is lucky to have such a wonderful place to handle life events! Thank you!
I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for Frank, Debbi, Emily, and the whole family at the French King!
I’ve been coming here for a few years now because my daughter goes to boarding school locally.
-And the five or six times I’ve been here. I can honestly say that the food has never let me down.
Classic past down American recipes that remind you of what good food should be.
I’ve been here for breakfast.
I’ve been here for dinner.
I’ve been here on prime rib night.
I’ve been here for Thanksgiving.
I’ve had one of Frank’s bloody Mary’s!
Never ever disappointed. Ever.
My only sadness is that the restaurant is not open Monday through Thursday!!!!
I completely get it. The area is pretty remote.
-But this place completely rocks during the weekend everything from my music to weddings and banquets!
It’s like the whole place lights up every weekend after sleepy week.
I love going here.
Rooms: I always get the room with the kitchen because I’m usually there for around a week.
We like to utilize the kitchen because it’s fully functional and we’ve made some great meals there .
Food and drinks: Nice fully loaded bar on the weekends.
Love watching a football game at the bar.
Noteworthy details: Located next to the (haunted) French King Bridge.

We didn't stay overnight here but stopped for breakfast on our way to VT. You definitely can't beat the location because the gorgeous bridge is right there, like an impressive entry to the Berkshires. The restaurant is a bit warn inside but that's what adds to the charm. Don't let the older interior deter you because their breakfast is fantastic. Their over easy eggs are loaded with flavor as if cooked in a cast iron skillet. The homemade breads, all I can say is I could have eaten the loaf. I believe the waitress shared their bread is made at Hagar Farm in Shelburne. I got the maple walnut bread and OMG ?, to dieeeeeee for! I can only imagine the sourdough or English muffin. Sausage is the flat patty and home fries are semi crisp outside with soft center. Service was prompt and it looked like just two young adults were holding down the dining room, with no trouble at all, on a Saturday morning. Plenty of parking too. Bathrooms dated but very clean. Again, the vintage decor definitely adds to the throw back feel if the place and we loved it. Oh, huge heavy Captain's chairs, like the ones in some of the Barnes & Noble stores, and heavy wooden tables are fitting to the 60s decor. There's also a bar area with a nice large TV for sports viewing and high top tables. You can eat breakfast in there. Also a huge event space that would be a great spot for a boutique size wedding especially with the amazing pictures the bridle party would capture on the bridge...think Fall foliage. No question we'll be returning. Oh did I mention incredibly reasonable prices. I don't know where you can still find a platter of breakfast items for under $10.00. Also great spot for hikers!
Nearby activities: The bridge, Mills Falls, plenty of hiking and fall foliage boat ride
Walkability: Hiking and the bridge right out the door
Food and drinks: A little of everything

High price $150 per night. No service. No new towels or room cleaning the next day. Spiders and bugs. No food available. Parking lot full of boats and trailers. No one in office. I rate this place as zero. Stay away. You would be better to sleep in the car.
