I now live in NH and make the drive at least 3 times a year to go. Still one of the best bakeries in operation. The pastries are A+ and somehow they always seem to hire the nicest people in the world.

The bakery is a true old-fashioned bakery with products baked fresh daily! Your eyes will be overwhelmed with the amazing selection of pastries, cookies, breads, pies, cakes, and specialty treats. They also have great pizza and calzones made fresh daily (these sell out quickly). EVERYTHING we have tried has been fresh and excellent. My personal favorite is the "icicles," which are a pastry that is very difficult to find. However, we had them when I was a child, so discovering them again at Elm Street Bakery was a real treat. The counter service is pleasant if you are a regular... go out of your way to try this bakery; it's much easier than going to Boston's Northend and definitely as good, maybe better!!!
