This was my husband and my first time dining here after being told it was the best restaurant at Encore Boston Harbor. We were excited to try it.
We were seated and drinks came out quickly and were great. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once our food arrived. We both ordered steaks (not inexpensive, I might add). At most high-end restaurants, someone waits a moment to ensure your steak is cooked properly — that did not happen here. Our server dropped the plates and immediately walked away.
My husband cut into his steak and it was rare, though he ordered medium. It was not edible. We had to flag down the waiter, who took it back without any apology. After waiting nearly 10 minutes, his steak was returned — meanwhile mine was completely cold. The replacement steak was visibly overcooked and burnt. Again, it was dropped off with no check-in, no apology, and no “Is everything okay?”
For a restaurant with this reputation and price point, the lack of service and attention was shocking. Very disappointing experience. We will not be returning.

I had an extremely disappointing and unsettling experience at Rare Steakhouse at Encore.
While dining alone on a business trip, I had one spicy margarita at the lounge and then walked directly to the steakhouse to have dinner. When I sat at the bar and attempted to order a second margarita with my meal, I was abruptly refused service. The bartender stated—without explanation—that he had been instructed by his manager not to serve me any more alcohol.
Naturally confused, I asked to speak with the manager to understand what was happening. Unfortunately, the interaction only became worse. The manager refused to provide a clear reason for the decision and offered only a vague statement that my “mannerisms and characteristics” were concerning—without explaining what that meant or what behavior, if any, was inappropriate.
I was made to feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, and unwelcome, despite having done absolutely nothing wrong. I was not impaired, disruptive, or behaving inappropriately in any way. I made a genuine effort to understand the situation and resolve it calmly, yet was treated dismissively and without respect.
As a result, I chose not to stay for dinner and left the restaurant entirely. This level of customer service—particularly from management—is unacceptable in a high-end establishment that claims to uphold five-star standards. Transparency, respect, and professionalism should be non-negotiable, especially when addressing guests directly.
I have stayed at Encore many times and have always received excellent service elsewhere on the property. Unfortunately, Rare Steakhouse fell far below those standards. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this restaurant based on this experience.

We dined at Rare Steakhouse tonight and had a fantastic experience. We ordered the Tomahawk, which was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We started with the flight of appetizers- Brussels sprouts, spinach, and mashed potatoes—all well prepared and flavorful. The complimentary bread at the table was a soft brioche with light salt and perfectly whipped butter, a great way to begin the meal.
We finished with the apple dessert, which was very unique and surprisingly delicious.
A special highlight of the evening was our waiter, Vidas. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and truly made the night memorable. We felt genuinely taken care of from start to finish.
We were very happy to share this experience and will absolutely be coming back-especially for the exceptional service. THANK YOU VIDAS!

Very small limited menu. The food is average at best and so is the service. Infinitely better options available in Boston. Quite disappointing.

We had dinner at Rare ar the Enncore in MA on 1/3/26z we were seated and greeted by our waiter. The GM came over, Adriana, who introduced herself, wished us a happy new year and said to let her know if there is anything she can do for us. The food was amazing. I had the filet mignon cooked perfectly and my husband had the NY strip steak . We ordered a flight of sides ( potatoe puree, mushrooms and Mac and cheese) you get a choice of 5-6 to choose from. . Delicious ! We ordered a nice bottle of cab and it was chilled for a cab. Our server, PJ was very personable and attentive. I noticed Adriana going table to table. I saw she oversaw the entire staff and was very hands on. Professional never goes
Unnoticed. Thank you ! We will be back next time we are I the area. Kudos to the chef as well and all the staff.

Dined many times at a Rare steakhouse. I noticed in the last few times I dined there the arrogance permeated the restaurant. You can feel it from the moment you check in for your reservation. Up until now I was only a witness to such behavior, but january 1st it finally affected me and I chose to walk out of the restaurant. I'm frequent player at the casino and always enjoyed relationships with my host Christa and now Frank. Interestingly enough sitting at the bar and enjoying the meal there I've never experienced such an attitude.
I hope management will take nessessary measures to get rid of this behavior and attitude.

I typically do not write reviews but this restaurant was SO BAD and so overpriced for the quality and service so here it is. The atmosphere is beautiful so no complaints. The service was baffling to say the least. We waited 45 minutes before anyone took a drink order and didn’t get our drinks for almost an hour. We had to asked for bread twice because no-one was taking our order. We got it over an hour later. That was probably the most delicious part of the meal although we were all really hungry by then.A couple of the servers were nice but our main server was mostly inattentive and we felt like we were bothering him if we needed anything. The chopped salad was good . After that all mediocre or substandard . The steaks at Longhorn are better than these. My cowboy bone in was not juicey or fatty like a typical cowboy steak . The filet was incredibly small and tasteless . We would never return here . A huge disappointment with all the hoopla over this place.

My reason for the lower ranking are as follows:
1) Steak came overcooked (ordered Medium, got well done). The fact that a) this is a steakhouse and all they focus on is steak and they still got it wrong is a large miss and b) the fact it made it out of the kitchen is a bit of a miss on process within the kitchen. Who's at the wheel? To be fair, manager did come and apologize and say that the Chef recognized the mistake.
2) Ordered ribeye which is supposed to be juicy and tender. Instead got a bit of a tough piece of meat. Not sure if this is due to the dry aging process, but not what I was expecting or used to. I'm also used to the fat being a bit more prevalent within the steak adding to its flavor, but didn't get that typical taste when eating it. Also lacked a bit of salt other than in the center pieces of the steak.
3) The price to value ratio is off for me. I recognize that this can be a very personal/subjective metric, but I was expecting an amazing food experience for these prices. 2 people with tip came to $200 total (no drinks, shared app, no sides). Chopped Salad + Ribeye Steak + Chicken = $170. But it's also the fact that you're in ENCORE and I may not be their typical target customer which is totally fair. So be the judge for yourself.
There was definitely some great aspects such as the service and the bread. Bread was warm and amazingly soft. Service was on point. Water was filled at all times and they were very nice. The decor was really nice and beautiful.

It’s a very good steakhouse. The food was amazing. I’ve been there a few times and service wise was a little bit slow compared to what we’re paying for the meal. Sometimes we had to wait 10 minutes for somebody to come to us to take a drink order but beside that, it’s a great vibe, great crowd and the food is amazing.

Disappointing food. Quality has gone down. General manager of restaurant does not enforce dress code. Why spend so much money for mediocre food when there are superior steak houses.

I went for a group holiday party with a set menu, but have a few allergies, so was very nervous to eat. However, the staff here was nothing but reassuring and accommodating. They communicated with us over the phone and when we got to the restaurant, they went above and beyond to describe my meal, their protocols, etc. The manager Adriana was extremely compassionate and knowledgeable and all of her staff was extremely professional. Food was very good as well, the warm bread and oil at the beginning was such a treat too!
