I have been coming to this restaurant for years now but today I experienced something I wouldn’t saw it coming. The manager there was very rude and racist because my table didn’t leave a large amount of tip.

I have been going to the restaurant for several years and today I went to celebrate my birthday with my small family and at the time of payment we were surprised by the manager who spoke very, very BADLY to us that we left the restaurant very embarrassed because of the tip we left. He directed our table with an attitude as if we were committing a crime, speaking loudly for everyone to hear thinking he was talking to animals. His justification was to say that the waiters earn $3 an hour and we have to leave more money. In short, a terrible experience. I hope I never go back there again. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Let me start by saying everything the three of us ate was excellent. We had two appetizers: clams and squid. For entrees my husband had grilled salt cod, I had a mixed seafood casserole and my brother, the octopus, his favorite. We have been to this restaurant several times before and like it a lot. Portionsare generous and we took home leftovers. That's the good news.But this past Friday, they were totally slammed with customers. We arrived for a 6:30 reservationand they were still looking for a table for us 20 minutes later. Then we waited a long time to place our order and it was another 20 minutes before any food arrived. Dinner for us finally started an hour after our reservation. Long and short of it, they were over booked (mostly with large parties of 6 to 8 so few smaller table were available . So, unless you have a clear reason to need Friday, maybe consider maybe Wednesday or Thursday. If for Friday, reserve very early or very late. Still I forgive them because the food is so good.

What a disappointment! I went to dinner with my two sisters because one of them wanted grilled salmon. We were poorly served by the waitress; she treated us very rudely, while at the tables next to us, she was professionally polite. I got the impression she must be racist. The food was good. The name of the person who served us is Christine B. I regret that I will never go to this restaurant again.
The server was not pleasant at all Never got in our table once,asking how was the food or anything. We believe we were victim of racism. Never the less we left her a generous tip. How do you like your tip? Please do better next time with customer like us. 09/02/25

We were driving up the coast to Plymouth Rock after dropping our daughter off at college, where we have never been. We just googled and found that this restaurant was open. Boy, were we in for a treat! My seafood rice dish and my husband's clam and pork dish were seasoned perfectly. We did not finish our entrees because we wanted to try the flan, and it was done perfectly, too. When we got home, we read that the Fall Rive Portuguese community was the biggest outside of Portugal. No wonder. My husband and I are foodies, and we feel silly for being so clueless but also very happy to have serendipitously found this restaurant and this community.

My son has been asking to try a Portuguese restaurant. One of his friends is Portuguese and recommended we try one out. I was told Sagres is one of the best! So we drove here today from Foxboro for his birthday for lunch. We got there around 1. We were given the option to sit anywhere we like which was nice. The inside was beautiful. Nice decor, clean, modern but comfortable. The menu was full of amazing choices. Was hard to choose but I knew my son and I were going for steak. Wife was going for seafood.
We ordered drinks, prices reasonable. The food prices were very reasonable compared to other restaurants.
My son got the filet and I got the traditional sirloin with the egg, rice and potatoes. Wife got a seafood stew type dish.
The bread came first which was fresh Portuguese style break. Was soft and delicious.
Meals came soon after. The plating was so neat but wow what a portion we each got.
Steaks were juicy, soft and tender. Cooked perfectly. The potatoes were flavorful. We had both the fries and chip sliced style. Both were so good. The rice was excellent. The seafood dish was steaming hot and fresh. Wife loved it. Took most of that home cause it was a big portion.
My son loves a good steak and he was more than impressed. I have to say, this was one of the best meals we had as a family at a restaurant this year.
1000%% we will be back soon.
And just to mention the service was great. Friendly, attentive and helpful.
Please keep this all up. Amazing place.

Great place for authentic Portuguese food. The steak that I had was delicious and others in my groupa were happy with their seafood too! Can't wait to go here when we visit again.
