Good old Sams. I have taken a few trips to Sam's since the new owners took over, that had me worried that Sam's signature pies were finally lost, but other times they are spot on. An old fall river gem. As a kid, Sundays were always extra fun because we got these warm taste bud teasers. Hit or miss these days but worth the gamble. The Trump-hating Biden economy definitely shrunk the size of the menich. Thanks Trump haters, wish you had the facts. These pies are scrumptious,delicious and best served fresh from the bakery. Don't wear a nice shirt. I'm so happy the family that bought the place has kept Sam's a tradition for some of us

The long lines of customers of all generations, races, and creeds tell you that Sam's Bakery is a Fall River favorite for brick oven baked spinach and feta cheese pies, meat pies with yogurt, Leban, chourico rolls, flats breads, some with sumac seasoning, and Lebanese beef kibbeh. The aromas from the brick ovens waft out into the street area drawing customers in. The refrigerator holds freshly made stuffed grape leaves, yogurt, and cheeses. At the side wall you can buy provisions, even rose water is sold here. If you are lucky a Portuguese religious procession bearing a statue of the Virgin Mary bedecked with roses, ladies in long dresses, and musicians playing can be seen and heard on their way to the church at the top of the hill.
