The array of immaculately fresh fish is a delight to the eyes. I bought two fresh lobsters, which were still feisty after 24 hours in my Refrigerator, and also the most beautiful haddock, which I am intending to cold smoke at home. The presentation, selection, freshness, pricing, as well as customer service absolutely cannot be beaten thank you so much Mr. Clam Man! I look forward to my return.
Asked for hard shell lobsters and were told that’s what they had. Sure enough - soft shell. I would have chosen something else if I had known. A proper fishmonger should know the difference between the two. I could tell as soon as I touched them. Otherwise nice selection but pricey. - Updating my review to 4 stars based on the customer service response below. I’ll politely decline the kind offer, but can’t overlook the willingness to accommodate.
Everything here is unbelievably fantastic!!
You pay a lot for the quality, but we LOVE their swordfish and scallops. Always super fresh.
The best seafood ever!!
Fantastic store with a great selection of seafood and lots of helpful staff. The lobster and fish we got were top tier quality and the prices were actually lower than we anticipated. A great spot to stop by and grab some food to make at home. Going out to eat is nice but if you are like me and like to go big, get your money's worth at a shop like the Clam Man and cook at home for even more food!
Today I went in and asked about a Connecticut style lobster roll (hot with butter only) and made it clear I wanted butter topped (FYI Boston born and raised, been buying lobster and oysters from Duxbury Wellfleet Gloucester St Anne’s Mass and Saco MAINE for 30 years).
Homeboy told me he can do that lobster roll, and it’ll be 28.99 (huh ok lobster clearly has gone up since 2021/22 even with Covid inflation).
((Another FYI, I lived in Paris and regularly went to a special restaurant that imported Maine Lobster and used FRENCH brioche rolls with freshly flown in Maine Lobster for 20 euros. It was delicious)).
He ends up walking over to the fridge and pulls out one of the pre packaged lobster cups for 22.99 or something similar that’s slathered in Mayonnaise. (How long was that sitting in the fridge, that day, or two days or what?)
I was like, wait is this with Mayo? Cause I just want it with butter. He seemed pretty annoyed I’d ask such a Dustin, after I said I wanted Connecticut style roll, and said he’d have to measure out the fresh lobster in front of him on the ice, as if this was an annoying step. I’m like yea sure I just don’t eat mayo so please do so.
I also asked about fries and he looked even more annoyed and was very *clear* about how this is a fresh fish shop. Yea I get that, I buy from those shops along the coast all the time. But forreal, this service vibe.
The roll was abysmal and small for the amount of lobster, and only the roll was coated in butter, with COLD and *somewhat fishy* smelling lobster. The lobster size and meatiness was good, but not 29 bucks worth with a mediocre roll. You’re telling me the roll costs 6-7 bucks?
If you’re offering lobster rolls, it would be really nice to have the hot butter offering, where the lobster itself is warm or AT LEAST COVERED in warm butter, not cold lobster on a warm buttered roll that it can’t even fit.
Sorry but the price really doesn’t do it Cape Cod justice, and I say this as someone who’s been eating lobster in the area and up the coast since she was a mass hole kid.
Pretty sick of inflated prices for abysmal service.
Nice fresh seafood. Decided to get a lobster roll here. I'm not sure why they are advertised as being "hot" when clearly the lobster meat is cold. Toasting the bun doesn't make it a "hot lobster roll" in my opinion. The sign should just say cold lobster rolls, or the staff should mention the lobster meat is cold right off the bat. Despite this confusion, it was still excellent lobster meat.
Quality fish
Got some fresh bread and fish. Liked both. Nice and fresh

Excellent! Top notch. Cleanest fish market I’ve ever been to with quite a section of gorgeous fish.
This place is unbeatable!!! Period! Their seafood is so fresh and beautifully displayed. It DOESN'T smell like the wharf in here. I love the smell of the wharf, but not when I buy seafood. Their cooked to order lobster is unfailingly the sweetest, most tender lobster I've ever had. Makes it very difficult to eat lobster anywhere else! 5 Stars plus for their quality, atmosphere, selection and especially their kind staff!
Literally the best seafood in the area. Anytime you go there you see how much they care about the quality of their product no matter what.pretty much every restaurant in the area gets the seafood from them so that tells you everything. Clam man #1!!!!!
Everything is always consistently good. ??⭐The cooked shrimp are the best, we bring them to party's and they're always a hit. My wife loves the lobster salad and I bring home hotdog rolls for her. And of course the swordfish is always great and I always get too much and never complain. ??Always good and fresh, I'm so glad to live close by ?
Always great. Always expensive, but 100% always outstanding and and fresh. Worth every cent.
