This was a charming breakfast outside on the Main Street of Falmouth. The salad with egg “healthy start” was outstanding, great coffee and fruit bowl was beautiful. Service warm and friendly. First few customers outside, all strangers, were warm and talkative to each other. Great way to start a New England day. Highly recommend. Note I went on a Saturday and they open at 9am sharp. Check current times. Grab a coffee down the street if you are early.
The Pickle Jar has been a Main Street treat for years. It was closed for over a year to cope with a fire on the upper storey of the building, so we're glad to have them back in full operation! Good food, made to order. Diversified menu -- something for everyone. Pleasant, homey atmosphere.
Although the wait for a table was shorter than some other area restaurants, the wait for service once seated, even for a beverage, was much longer. Slow service continued throughout the meal, even as the breakfast crowd cleared out and before the lunch crowd began to fill the eatery. The food was fine and the pickled veggies were a nice touch. OTOH, the coffee was worse than anything I’ve had recently. A hand-written sign noted that they’d been closed due to a Jan 1 fire and...
