I have attended two events with Deep Roots (first the game dinner and then the wine tasting dinner). Not only was the atmosphere inviting and warm, but the food and drinks were delicious! Chef Adam clearly puts so much thought and passion into his food, and I am very impressed by the use of local products. It really showcases the farms in the area. I also like to see a company that works with other community businesses, which Deep Roots did with the wine and beer at the events I went to. It shows a true community spirit that encourages other small businesses to succeed. Overall, an absolutely amazing place with great food and drinks. Can't wait to go back!

A little gem in Sturbridge, the owners are great, friendly, creative and offer a unique experience. Their craft spirits are delicious and you can even throw axes right next door. Great place to bring a group of friends. There is a good brewery in the same area and they have taps of that as well. Highly recommended.

Amazing Sundy brunch! Got the spicy chicken and waffles which was amazing and locally sourced! Another small but necessary touch is filtered water! P.S. the city water is bad here!

We had a wonderful time at Deep Roots today with our folks. the drinks were great and the food was fabulous. background music was perfect so we could each other just fine (important for folks with hearing aids)

Three of us went for the prix fare menu on a Friday night and it couldn’t have been better! The salmon and the spicy Alfredo pasta (not too spicy) were the stars of the entree round. The wedge salad for the first course was at least as good as 111 Chop House, I’d say better, and the desserts, especially the lemon blackberry tart, (which my ordered a second to go it was so good) finished off this excellent dining experience. Oh, and did I mention an amazing selection of drinks provided by the distillery? And did I mention some terrific live music provided by Joe Macey? Couldn’t have been much better, really. The ambiance may not quite be 5-stars, as my son mentioned the chairs were a bit uncomfortable, but it’s really all about the food and drink, and this place rocks!

Wow!! Best food and drinks in the area!!We have had great, fresh, creative and locally sourced meals every time! Last night, we tried their new pre fixe menu and cocktail special, the smores martini. We just can't say enough how much we enjoyed it! Chef Popp is the master of his craft and comes out personally to deliver and tell you about his creations. Combine that with great cocktails, and a little axe throwing, this is where we have had the best nights out!

We love the atmosphere, the people, and the drinks! They are so nicely balanced and flavorful, it's absolutely worth a stop, their bottles are awesome as well!

Atmosphere is cool, drinks are good, service is what takes this place from 4 to 5 stars.Chef Popp came to our table to ask if we had any questions and on the spot came up with a dish for my wife who is vegan. The food was also incredible. Fresh seasonal veggies cooked fresh, and the free pickled apples... which was a shock to me. They were delicious.Get a cocktail and some great food, would definitely recommend.

I don't drink as much or as often as I did when I was young. So when I do I like it to be special and I seek out those places where I believe that will happen. My favorite is a nice Black Russian and Deep Roots distills vodka and coffee liqueur. They made me the best Black Russian I've ever had. Special.

What's a distillery? If you ask the owners of Deep Roots you'll learn a lot. They make only spirits and liquors. This is not a place to get a craft beer, instead craft cocktails. Deep Roots is a distillery that cares about the community and integrates local ingredients into their menu and liquors when possible.I enjoy learning how things are made and the owners are always patiently answering my questions. A friendly vide that is frequented by locals and out-of-towners alike. Everyone is welcome! It's a bit sketchy walking into the building if you go around back you'll need to take and elevator of questionable functionality. However, the front door is safe and secure even if you need to walk up a steep hill. They offer gin, whiskey, liquors, rum, and more. If craft beer is your thing (it's mine) then Altruist is in the same building. However, I'd encourage anyone to try the spirits. If you share what kind of taste you like the bartenders are great at offering suggestions to meet your palate. My favorites are their Apple Pie Whiskey and Apple Cinnamon Whiskey. They are both very smooth and are good straight, as a mule, or any of their other cocktails. The food menu is excellent with a wide array of options that leave you with a desire to try just about everything. They have a few spirits that won regional awards within the last 12 months and it's easy to taste why.The only downside is the ease of access to the building. This is of course outside the distillery's control. However, it's a challenge for those with physical disabilities. The quality of service and product is well worth the effort to enter the building. It's also Veteran owned, which is always great to support!
