Was visiting and taken here by a loved one who lives in the area. Absolutely incredible meal from start to finish. Food was exceptional, I had the bbq pork sandwich that was the special of the night and I honestly don’t know that I’ve had a better bbq sandwich anywhere and I’ve lived in the south. Amazing appetizers and drinks as well. Service was also exceptional. You won’t be disappointed with this place

I recently dined at a charming little restaurant that boasts a cute ambiance and a friendly staff. However, my experience was somewhat marred by the seating process. Despite having a 6 PM reservation, we were left waiting until 7 PM to be seated, which was particularly frustrating when another party of four arrived after us and was promptly shown to their table. Once seated, the food was enjoyable but not quite worth the price tag. The fall salad was a standout, fresh and flavorful, while the burger, though tasty, was disappointingly small. Overall, while the atmosphere and service were lovely, the long wait and portion sizes left me feeling underwhelmed. I would recommend this place for a casual bite if you’re not too concerned about timing or portion sizes, but be prepared for a bit of a wait!

We went boating out Barton Cove and stop in at The Gill Traven.
Excellent food, mussels were top notch with a different twist. Lobster roll was very tasty. The dessert was strawberry and fig shortcake. (see picture)

Was a disappointed this time. Probably our last, The pan fried chicken was a just chicken leg with nothing special done to it or accompanying it $30. The monkfish was about the same. The rice was better than the fish. Others were getting free poured drinks, My bourbon was meticulously measured for $14.. I could go to 110 Grill, Applebees, or any chain restaurant for the same. (or better) We have dined here in the past and always happy. Not this time unfortunately. They seemed to have gone downhill and lost interest in a creative menu. The menu was very limited and non distinct.

I don’t know what happened Fathers Day but this was the worst dining experience we’ve had in years. I understand help is hard to get these days but they were not prepared at all! Waited almost an hour for the appetizers and then another 30 minutes for the food. Instead of server telling us about these delays my daughter had to get up and ask. Train your servers to be better at communicating with tables. That would have made a difference. Also some kind of compensation for the wait. Take off one appetizer, or free drinks. Something. The burgers and salad a disappointment. The tacos very good but way overpriced for the food. Wont be going back.

So I recently dined in at the Gill Tavern with a co-worker on a random Thursday night and was super impressed with my entire dining experience. So impressed I made reservations for that Saturday night to go out w/my fiancé and another couple.On both occasions, everyone loved it!!! The food was absolutely delicious, cocktails were skillfully crafted and the service was top notch.Definitely our new new go-to for date nights or going out with family and friends.
