Worst place on earth!!! If you like mold then this is your place!!! Mold all over air conditioner, running down wall and on carpet. Don’t ever send family or friends to this hotel. Lock box to get your key, our key was missing from lock box and no staff on premises t tell us what to do. no security. Your door could be kicked in and no one would hear you screaming for help. No black out curtains so the bright street light shine in windows, loud street traffic all night long. When you call them to complain they don’t answer phone and then they ghost you. Impossible to get a refund. It’s not good if you have problems with allergies.
Wish they could open soon. Enjoyed much when it was Hunter's!
Please note that the reviews on here that mention good service, the restaurant, or simply any individual are most likely for another Grafton Inn, the one in Vermont. This one- the one in Massachusetts- is all but abandoned. There is no desk. The restaurant is shuttered and in shambles. The fire extinguishers in the building have not been inspected in years. The phone number for the Inn is out of service. The manager’s phone number that is posted is not in service. The WiFi does not work.We went to check in and there was not a soul. Hours later- after we literally scoured the Inn- we got a text for check in. Even if we had stuck around and been able to check in, it is an unsafe environment. I am sure the building can not be up to code given the status as well as the old fire extinguishers and lack of lock on the door.
We stayed at the Grafton Inn for a wedding weekend that was held there. We experienced the hospitality of the entire staff for breakfast, lunch, and dinner multiple times and at each time, the staff was amazing and the food was delicious. From the welcoming hostess, to the lively bartender, and the ever present with a smile wait staff who took care of our every need (especially Sara and Lisa!), we enjoyed all of our interactions that they served up for us. The variety of food we enjoyed at the Phelps Barn and the Tavern was unique, delicious, and always on point. The chefs and cook staff should be commended for their skills not only on the exceptional food they prepared but the speed and manner in which they provided it. All things considered, it was an outstanding experience in dining and hospitality from a collaboration of professionals set in the most charming locale.
THANK-YOU!
Was able to get ahold of someone pretty easily and issue a refund quickly without any issue.

DONT STAY!!
I booked this hotel as a treat for my husband for Valentine's Day and now he's considering divorcing me just kidding but seriously do not stay here!
Here are the facts in quick bullets:
-Entrance to the building is unsecure there are no locks on the outside ( we retrieved our room key number seven in a lock box upon receiving instructions in a text message).
- There's no front desk or receptionist or anyone watching The Doors.
-The building looks like it's falling apart the floors and walls are all uneven and creek with every footstep. The floors are so uneven it's visible to your eye it honestly looks like a fun house walking through the hallway.
- When we entered into our room ( no 7) it was FREEZING!! And it was below 50° in our room. My husband immediately tried to fix the thermostat to discover nothing helped. We have a picture showing that we tried setting it to 70 however I can't emphasize enough there is no heat.
Because there was no heat we slept in multiple layers. I'm not exaggerating I actually put on my outfit I was planning to wear the next day and my husband slept with his hat on and three layers of pants. Had it not been late in the evening we would have left. My husband was not happy and also we both didn't feel safe we ended up propping the chair against the door because the door did not fit the frame and the locks felt unsecure. You can see the hallway in between the door and the frame.
Please, please look at all my pictures and please also take into consideration this is the first time that I'm even writing a poor review for any place I've ever stayed.
Sincerely, survivor of the Grafton Inn!
PS- the rooms aren't clean there's dead bugs amongst the floor walls. 😑
I was very surprised to learn that the bar was in the process of being gutted and the building was not staffed. It was definitely a little weird grabbing the key out of the lock box but the room was clean enough and came with a mini fridge. Thoughtful coffee station directly outside room. For the price over the holiday it was fine.

The building needs some love. The restaurant/bar was under construction. I think it has a lot of potential. The second floor smelled like mildew which our room wasn’t on but if you use the stairs you have pass it. The room was not very clean. There’s clumps of hair all over the bathroom. The trashcan in the bathroom still had trash left in it from the last guest. We didn’t sleep in the sheets we slept on top of them. To pay cash we had to slip the cash under a door and never interacted with the owner/manager. It was a bit expensive for what we got. There was a window in our room that looked into another room and the blind wouldn’t close all the way. The lamps turned on, but they were very fragile. There was no overhead lighting. The room was very spacious, which was nice. Would stay here again if things were fixed/updated. We were walking distance to the wedding we were attending at the golf course so it was convenient.

A complete rip-off. I called ahead and found that there was no reception desk--only a "lock-box" which turned out, on my arrival to be non-existent. Fortunately, I was able to crash with relatives nearby. The "inn" itself is a dilapidated structure, evidently unoccupied. DO NOT BOOK AT THIS PLACE!

Gorgeous hotel, but "Jennifer" is sour and rude. Glad the other staff was friendly. No one answers the phone when you call, as we experienced several times, so be sure you don't have any urgent questions.

I used to live in 2 Grafton Common, just across from the Inn 25 years back and I knew the Inn's location. It was a historical building, nice, lot of modern amenities yet in old style which I personally like. Clean and comfortable bed, spacious room, bathroom is ok. Appreciate the fridge and hair dryer. The only thing is that I spent 1 night there in the beginning of October and there was no room heater. It was not super-cold but as I went there from Arizona, to me it was cold. I noticed it in night but didn't call the host for it as it was not terrible cold or freezing. But my suggestion would be to put a room heater. The tea-coffee arrangement is nice. I must appreciate the host's nice communication and appreciate that he did let me do early check-in. Grafton is a quaint small town with lots of trees in Common across from the Inn and I enjoyed it immensely but I must write that there was no front desk/reception in the building, the room key was in the lockbox, the front door stays open, inside light is dim, my room was No. 7 on 3rd floor with dim-lighted corridor and there was a small you get when you enter in an old house......to me all these were ok but may not be to everybody. An alone person may feel eerie or unsafe there. I stayed there for October 9, 2023.Walkability: you can walk in this quaint town and enjoy the greenery.

Tavern and Inn restaurants. Food good. Inn ambiance better than barn. Service pleasant and capable. Often closed for special events.
Clean room, coffee was good (k cup) could have used more lights in hallway next to k cup machine, and a little cream for coffee would have been nice.

Rooms: The room was charming, clean linens, clean bathroom old fashion fireplace, antique furniture, sweaky floors.
Nearby activities: Coffee shop. Country store, park across with gazebo. Catering and take out deli a few yards away.
Safety: We had an old fashion key.
Noteworthy details: Church bells were music to my hard-of-hearing ears.
This Inn was a disgrace. Do not book this place!! Smelly, dirty and broken down. The Tavern is closed but the Inn is open. Sign says bar is undergoing renovations but no work was done when we were here 3 nights during the week. Some rooms are for tenants. Felt unsafe to stay there with two men smoking cigarettes and pot every night outside. Stay away.
