We went to Hope and Olive on Saturday night. I had never been there before but it has been our practice to make reservations at restaurants we have not visited just to be sure we are seated. Let me say if you plan to go to this restaurant it is a must to have a reservation. The line forms at 445 before they open and if you don't have a reservation you might get a seat at the bar but then again you might not. They kind of remind me of the Seinfeld episode with the soup chef...
Always welcoming, food is very creative. Zane was an excellent waitperson. Menu changes which keeps it interesting but if you have a favorite it may not be there every time. When it’s crowded, it can get really loud and don’t count on being able to sit for long at your table after your meal, but you may be politely asked to relocate to the bar area, if there’s room. We were surprised by this, and while understandable it was a bit awkward as we were only a table of 2....
Since a wonderful restaurant. The wait staff are friendly and organized. The atmosphere is cozy and attractive. The food is fantastic. I have been there numerous times and have NEVER been disappointed. One of the owners is involved in community work with the library making the restaurant a true part of our community.
